Question about GE Profile JT952 Electric Double Oven

3 Answers

F2 fault when baking oven will shut off displaying f2. Attempts to restart are successful about half of the time, but then it will shut off after about 5 min. GE wants 99 bucks just to show up and won't troubleshoot. This is a problem with the conventional oven not the convection. Thanks much...Mike

Most likely the temp sensor went bad, this is located within the back panel of the oven and will need to be replaced. GE is known to have problems with many of their ovens and I would recommend replacing the temp sensor with one that will handle more heat. Let me know of any other questions that you may have.

good luck

you can do it yourself if you can get to the back panel, youll have to pull out your oven out of the wall unless you have an access panel, unplug stove, unscrew back panel youll see the wire going to the probe unplug wire, not from the probe side as the wire and probe are one, bout the connector,go inside the oven unscrew sensor probe, reverse procedure to put back in

F3 and F2 Errror messages on my GE convection oven

F2 & F3 are fault codes relating to the oven temperature sensor

F2 during bake means a temperature of over 630 deg has been reached
F3 means shorted oven temperature sensor

What it means is you will most likely need to have the oven temperature sensor (thermostat) replaced .

Turn oven on to bake when it reaches temp oven cuts off and f2 sh

This indicates the oven has reached an over temperature. You will first need to check the temperature probe for the proper reading. Refer to the tech sheet located somewhere on your stove. It should be around 1100 ohms. If this checks out good the ERC electronic range control will need to be replaced. Here is a couple links that should help

Oven gets a "fault" shortly after putting power back on.

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Oven flashes F2 and beeps in the middle of baking or broiling something. Our oven is all electric and recently whenever we start to broil or bake something, after a little while it will shut off and the...

HI. an F-2 during a baking cycle is the result of an out of control oven temp that has reached Temperatures above 615F-630F

If this actual over temperature condition occurred, Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred, Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature.

GE: JTP56 F2 Door Locked displayed

I have the the same problem as discribed above. Does you oven fan go on for a long time after you use your oven during regular baking. Mine seems to stay on for 45 minutes after I bake anything. Can this be all tied together with the f2 problem? I am wondering if it is not just a fan circulation problem?

I need to disable my ovens auto shut off

The control is automatically set to turn off the oven after 12 hours baking or 3 hours broiling should you forget and leave the oven on. If you want to remvoe this feature do the following steps: 1. Press and hold, at the same time, the BAKE and BROIL buttons for 3 seconds, until the display shows "SF". 2. Press the DELAY START TIME button. The display shows "12Shdn" for 12 hour shut off. Press the DELAY START TIME button again. The display will show "no Shdn" for no shut off. 3. Press the START button.
