I suppose if the screen is only faulty you could replace the screen.

heres the user guide
http://education.ti.com/downloads/guidebooks/graphing/89ti/Voyage200Guidebook_Part2_EN.pdf

you should be able to tranfer the files from the voyage if it still works except for the screen, ones connected to the pc.

you can get the pc program from here

How do I create a backup of the files on a graphing calculator using TI Connect?

To create a backup of the files on a graphing calculator, please follow these steps:

    • Connect the TI Connectivity cable to the calculator and the PC.
    • Start the TI Connect software and click Backup.
    • Click on yellow folder with the green arrow to name the backup file.
    • Click save to keep the file name.
    • Press OK to start the back up file transfer.
NOTE: This procedure will create a backup of all files contained in RAM. Flash applications will not be included in the backup.

  • Ekse Jul 10, 2008

you can find everything required from this website

If the battery is dead and the device is melted then there is noting to recover except maybe some programs you may have stored if flash memory.

  • Ekse Jul 10, 2008

-About 188K bytes user available RAM if the battery is dead then this is gone.

-About 2.7 MB of user-available FLASH ROM - this should still be in there. But from reading the backup instructions it only backs up the RAM of the device.

I suspect that the screen is damaged. The liquid crystal is leaking. It could be old age or some violent shock. It may be time to replace it with a TINspire CX CAS, a Casio Class Pad 400 or the latest HP Prime

For the TI-89 Family, TI-92 Family, and Voyage 200:
  1. Try a new set of batteries (including the backup battery).
  2. Adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the Diamond Key key followed by pressing and releasing the [+] key; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, use the [-] key.

Cant transfer files to ti voyage200

The error message is important. It tells the would-be helper where to start.
Anyways, did you try to check if the file(s) you are trying to transfer have a size smaller than the RAM left?.
Did you make sure that the Computer (TI connect) fully recognizes the calculator?.
I use Windows 7 (64 bits) and TI connect works perfectly.

How can i replace the INSIDE/INTERNAL screen on the LG voyager? i need to either have it replaced or replace it myself ASAP!! please help!!! thanks in advance

The sticky, thick transfer tape and copper ground shield tape on the LCD display to be a real pita. The OE sticky surface pulled off the copper tape and that took some effort to address. If you're determined anyway, try Staples for super thin double-sided transfer tape to repair the copper shield (and thick clear transfer tape for gluing the LCD assy to the inner screen). The thicker adhesive product is similar to adhesive product used to attach automotive exterior trim, except it's made of clear, 100% glue instead of thin sandwiched foam or poly. It measures over 1mm thick and it's used as a sort of spacer. A thinner product will NOT work. A roll of this clear, thick sticky glue product designed for hanging stuff on a house wall costs a whopping $22 at Staples. You may also do it by recycling the old, mangled glue strip, adding time & frustration.

In my opinion, the Voyager repair effort is simply not worth it because you can sell a busted Voyager on fleabay and buy a good used one for about $75 difference. Voyagers eaten by Rotweilers, fallen in the toilet or dropped by motorcycle riders at illegal speed are fetching $75-$90. Folks are getting $125 for clean working black phones with a cracked display and $200 for good one's that need no repair at all. The friggin' screen cost $60 with shipping. So you save about $15. That comes to $3/hour (the job may take 2 to 5 hours to complete) labor for the efforts you took, which is the same wage 1 gets 20 years ago sweeping floors.
If you have any more doubts or need clarifications, please come back to us. Else please accept the solution. Best Wishes. Thanks for using FixYa.

Whenever i try to link my calculator with other ones it always says error in xmit. no matter what i do

Hello,
Read the following answer from the TI Knowledge Base.
Hope it helps.

How can I troubleshoot an Error in Xmit error message when transferring data between two graphing calculators?

The Error in Xmit error message is returned when a connection cannot be established between two calculators when attempting to transfer data. There are several factors that can contribute to this error message.
• The calculators being connected are not compatible for data transfer.
• The data cable is not firmly connected to both units.
• The receiving calculator is not in receive mode.
• The I/O port on one of the graphing calculators is damaged.
The procedure for connecting two graphing calculators is as follows:

• Connect the data cable to the I/O port of each unit. The cable will fit tightly in the I/O port and snap into place. If silver from the cable is visible, the cable is not properly connected.
• Access the Link menu on each unit
• Place the receiving graphing calculator on "Receive"
• Place the sending unit on "Transmit" or "Send" from the Link menu.

Once the data has been selected, the transfer will commence accordingly.

The data transfer protocols for graphing calculator is as follows:

• TI-73 - Link allows data sharing with another TI-73, TI-82, TI-83, and TI-83 Plus.
• TI-82 - Link allows data sharing with another TI-82.
• TI-83 - Link allows data sharing with the TI-82, TI-83 family calculator, and TI-84 Plus family calculator.
• TI-83 Plus/TI-84 Plus family- Link allows data sharing with another TI-82, TI-83 family calculator, and TI-84 Plus family calculator.
• TI-85 - Link allows data sharing with another TI-85(To a TI-86. Not From a TI-86).
• TI-86 - Link allows data sharing with another TI-86 and from a TI-85 to a TI-86.
• TI-89 family- Link allows data sharing with another TI-89 family calculator and from a TI-92 family calculator.
• TI-92 family- Link allows data sharing with another TI-92 family calculator and from a TI-89 family calculator.
• Voyage™ 200 - Link allows data sharing with another Voyage 200 and TI-92 family calculator.

If the cable does not fit properly into the I/O port, or if the I/O port appears to be damaged (broken or separated plastic, obstruction inside the port), call 1-800-TI-CARES (1-800-842-2737) M-TH 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM FRI 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Central Standard Time to speak to a representative or sending an email to ti-cares@ti.com.

Voyage 200 won't turn on

I've fixed my Voyage 200!! I fixed it using the 3rd solution listed below. I've placed them all in there in case the one I used din't work. The funny thing is the solutions listed weren't even for the Voyage 200. I mistakenly tried the wrong one, but it worked!! I've also posted some soultions listed for the Voyage 200 just incase the others don't work and the website I found these solutions can be found here. Good Luck!!

Website:
http://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?nSetId=85103&nUsePub=NO&jttst0=6_23871,23871,-1,0,&jtfm0=&etfm1=&jfn=ZG1C0B48595DC76138EFAD7BAC9C1E63B698A69C9FCFEA6C84DEE9934631AC138649F2CD10EBEEF5C5E390C0B8C5F215C2F3

List of solutions that worked for me:

  1. Try a new set of batteries (including the backup battery).
  2. Adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the [2nd] key followed by pressing and releasing the up arrow; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, use the down arrow.
  3. Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the CLEAR key. While holding CLEAR, reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display the message "RAM Cleared". Release the CLEAR key and then press it one more time to remove the message. (worked for me!! Never actually said "Ram Cleared" just had a long box across the screen that filled up and POOF it was back!!)
  4. Remove one of the AAA batteries. Press and hold the DEL key. While holding DEL, reinsert the AAA battery and then turn the calculator on. The calculator should display "Waiting...Please install calculator software now". Follow the instructions for the TI-83 family or TI-84 Plus family to reinstall the calculator operating system.
  5. Remove all of the batteries including the round lithium battery for 5 minutes. After the 5 minute period, reinsert all of the batteries and turn the calculator on. Adjust the contrast if necessary.

TI-89 Won't Turn On

Please don't get your hopes up, but perhaps something in the following few suggestions will work:

For the TI-89 Family, TI-92 Family, and Voyage™ 200:
  1. Adjust the contrast by pressing and releasing the Diamond Key key followed by pressing and releasing the [+] key; repeat as necessary. To adjust or lighten the display, use the [-] key.
  2. Users of the TI-89 Titanium or Voyage 200 should see the following case before performing the following reset procedure to prevent the loss of valuable Apps.
On the TI-92 family or Voyage 200, hold the [2nd] key and the [hand] key, then press and release the [on] key. On the TI-89 family, press and hold the [2nd] key, left arrow, and right arrow; then press and release the [on] key. This should reinitialize the operating system, in which you should see a progress bar filling on the screen.
  3. Remove one of the AAA or AA batteries. Press and hold the [APPS] key, and while holding the [APPS] key, replace the battery and turn the unit on. TI-89, 92 Plus, or Voyage 200 users should see "Press I to install code...", and should press the [9] key. The calculator should then say, "Waiting to receive...". TI-89 Titanium users should see "Waiting to receive..." or "Waiting to received OS...". You will need to restore the calculator's operating system.
To reinstall the Calculator's operating system, take a look at the following TI site.

http://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?nSetNumber=12089

I would hunt around on the TI knowledge base to see if there are some more useful suggestions if nothing above works. If I find any more info that could be useful I will post it.
