    thank for taking your time

when i removed the back panel

i hard wire the fan motor to make it work (added ground to the motor) and and the refrigarator start working fine

this time i removed the wire to test the swithch

Instead of folling with the wiring, make sure the fan is just rusted into place...give it a push by hand and electric power should do the rest. THE FAN HAS NO TORQUE AT REST.

There may be a door switch which turns the blower motor off when door is open. If this fan switch is bad it would cut power to the motor.

  • Anonymous Jul 17, 2008

Some of the switches are double acting which turn off the fan and on the light when you open the door and the reverse when you close the door.

  • Anonymous Jul 17, 2008

If your switch had three wires it would be for the fan operation. If it had only two wires it would be for the light only.

Ge monogram zfsb23d howls

Usually you will get a sort of whinning/screeching noise from the fans inside the fridge/frezzer when they are not working properly but you can also get that howling noise from the fan which cools the compressor for the fridge/frezzer which is usually found underneath the Unit. All you have to do is find exactly where the noise is coming from and remember unless you have a dog that likes to lock itself in the fridge for a joke then most noises that come from fridge/frezzers are only made from the moving mechanical parts and sometimes leaking refridgerants but not often.

Issue with Kenmore Refrigerator/Freezer

ok,1st check on fridge side toward upper back of the top and feel for air coming thru, and there is another one down possibly behind crisper .I had this same deal. Had to do total defrost,, put food in cooler,, theres two blower fans in these types of fridges,,one in the bottom back,, and one in the back of the frezzer,, I used an old hair dryer and let it blow warm to top interior of frezzer,, careful not to let any cords hang/drop in any water!!,ok once done dry out as much water as possible, turn fridge on set both controls to 4,when fridge kicks on do the feel test,, you may need to close the frezzer door, air should be felt near top inside of fridge,if so than shut fridge side and feel inside frezzer near bottom and air should be felt,, side-by-side need to circulate air from frezzer to fridge, then back to frezzer

Just notice my frezzer was not freezing fridge is working but not as cold. Its a side by side amana #ARS2666AC

Hi,
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Heater has stopped working

(1) possible blown fuse.
Note that fuses blow for a reason - seek out the reason, or it will blow its new fuse too.

The main fuse block is located inside the left side of the engine compartment near the battery. There is also an interior fuse panel located just above the left side kick panel.

Interior Fuse Panel
The interior fuses simply unplug from the fuse panel. Use the fuse puller tool provided with your car to remove fuses from the panel. The tool is located on the back of the interior fuse panel cover.

(2) possible blower motor dead. See maintenance manual excerpt below.

(3) possible blower motor relay faulty. Location of Blower relay:
Under hood, drivers side, front engine area, rear of headlight housing; relay mounted on drivers side of radiator shroud.

See Figure below

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the glove box and the underdash cover.
  3. Detach the electrical connectors from the blower unit.
  4. Remove the blower unit-to-fire wall attaching bolts and remove the blower unit assembly.
  5. Remove the blower motor fan-to-motor fastener.
  6. Remove the blower motor-to-unit attaching bolts, then remove the motor.
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Remove the back panel and get to the drain trough. Using a hair dryer heat until it starts getting a lot of water. Dry with towel and repeat. After several minutes take some boiling water and pour in the drain trough and let set. Do this with ref off. After about 30 minutes the tube will be cleared again. Hope this helps. Rick

Frezzer working, freshfood side not,ok I stopped motor several times and it work four days and agin the problem. Is there a sensor in the freshfood side? or a little fan inside?Pls Help me

Hi, you got a defrost problem, when to much ice build up after few days, cooling decreases. it could either be your defrost heaters are burnt out, faulty defrost timer, or faulty defrost thermodisc, which are usually at back of freezer, you will have to remove back panel of freezer, and cary out continuity test, to see which ones are defected. the defrost timer sometimes could be found inside of refrigerator compartment or at back of ref. different models, different location, you didn't say what made ref. you got, surely you got a defrost problem, you will need a mechanic to get it check, if your days are hot, or if you got door gasket problem, or someone forgot door half open for few hrs, or excessive hot air getting into ref, could cause that too. before calling mechanic, you will need to empty ref. and unplug for few hrs, clean out all ice, surely it will work, but if problem continues, call mechanic.

Freezer works fine,refrierator not cold.

Check to see if the fan is running in the frezzer side. This is called the evaperator fan and it blows the cold air from your evaperator to the ref side to cool it. If this is not running then your ref will not be cooling at all.
