Scanner doesn't scan

When I try to scan something the screen says "connecting" and doesn't do anything

Start by changing the USB speed...

Two USB modes are available: Fast, which is the default, and Slow. Poor USB operation may be experienced in the Fast mode, in which case the Slow mode should be used to improve performance.

  1. Press the [Menu / Exit] button on the Control Panel. 'System Data' will be displayed on the Display Screen.
  2. Press the [Down] arrow button until 'System Setup' is selected, and then press the [Enter] button.
  3. Press the [Down] arrow button until 'USB mode' is selected, and then press the [Left] or [Right] arrow button to select either [Fast] or [Slow].
  4. Press the [Enter] button twice.
  5. Press the [Menu / Exit] button, and then press the [Stop] button to return to the Standby mode.

    If you continue to have problems. Look at the information on the Xerox.com website. I will tell you the steps as best I know how to get there.



    1. Go to www.Xerox.com.

    2 Once there click on support and drivers on the top of the home page.

    3. You will see a search box appear, type in M15i and click search.

    4. Once you get to the M15 support page, simply type in scan, several topics will appear, I think it's about 15 topics. I do believe if after you try changing your USB speed, if that doesn't resolve your problem, one of those topics listed on the Xerox website will resolve your issue. Easier to look there in their detailed steps then sitting here trying to "splain" them to you.

Hello,

If it is your first time using your printer, then you need to install the driver for it to work.

If you have used your printer without any problem before then, there are two possible reasons why your printer/scanner is having that issue:

1. Connection error
2. Driver problem

First thing's first. Restart your computer and your printer. there are times that computers and printers just need a restart for it to work. Yes, it's strange but it's how things work with machines. They need rebooting to work smoothly.


If rebooting your computer and printer won't fix the problem. Here are the things that you can do.

1. Connection error:
.
a. Turn off your printer and turn it back on. Try scanning, if no go.. proceed to step b.

b. Unplug your printer from your computer and unplug it's power cord and press and hold the printer's power button to 5-8 seconds to completely drain the power. Plug it back in to the wall outlet leaving the connection between your computer and the printer still unplugged. wait until your printer completely turns on. Plug it to your computer and do the scanning process.

If all steps above don't work, then you need to check the driver.

Uinstall the driver of your computer by going to the control panel. After uinstalling it, then reinstall it by using the dvd that came with your printer. Follow the on-screen instructions and try scanning. It should work.

I am trying to scan pictures through MP Navigator and but when I go to press scan documents, it says, unable to connect with the scanner, scanner may not be turned on or a cable may be disconnected..i have...


First I'd try rebooting your computer with the printer on and plugged in ( reboot the printer first ). I know that sounds simple but it works sometimes.
If that doesn't work, make sure you do have communication with the printer. Can you print to it? If you can, I would reinstall the printer drivers, as the scanner driver may need to be reinstalled. http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp150#DriversAndSoftware and choose your operating system for the driver.

Black line just left of center when using document feeder to copy or scan. This doesn't happen when i put only one copy directly on glass.....


Hi jenni

The problem is in the scanner area. What you need to do is open the ADF (Automatic Document feeder) cover and inspect maybe something is stick to the glass and it appears always. Try to inspect carefully you may see some dirty if you find anything removable like piece of paper do remove it or you can clean it with a dump cloth specially the area where the scanner stops then you use document feeder. This will sure solve your problem.

A quick to fix to most communication problem is to reboot your system. Disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your computer. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Try to scan again. When scanning using the scanner glass, the scanner light will move across the glass to scan your original document. The printer will then process the image and sends it to your preferred application on your computer.

Try opening a scanning program and scanning from there.

Get Picassa if you don't have it, and try scanning in there. Open the Import tab, then change the Import From to select your scanner.

How do i use my scanner for hp psc 2210 series.... I trying to scan something. I have pushed the scan botton on the printer. And i can't scan anything.....


The reason may be that the software is not installed properly. Did you try to scan from computer?

From computer you can try from Hp Director/ HP Solution Center or from scanner and camera wizard.

My Kodak ESP 3 Won't Scan


Did you install the full software driver for the all-in-one? The drivers are here: http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=9103/12666/12667&product=EKN034524

Next try a new USB cable and plugging the unit into a different port. If you use a print server or USB hub, try connecting directly to the computer. Scanners need bi-directional communication with the computer and thus are likely to have issues even if the printer doesn't.

Can the scanning software on the computer initiate the scan? (That is in the full software package. Alternatively Vista came with Paint and File> Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan.)

My printer doesn`t react


Hi there, " Unplug the printer cable from the computer. " Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications " restart the computer " try to download drivers from the website " after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer. My brother won't scan

?Scanner failure? error message


Usually this type of error message pops up when the scanner lamp isn?t warming up properly. This is what you should do: 1. Check if the lamp is on. 2. Unplug the scanner?s power supply and plug it back in. Try connecting it diretly to the wall. 3. If that doesn?t work: a. Unplug the unit?s power supply. b. Press ?cancel? and left arrow while reconnecting the unit. c. Release the buttons when the printer starts up. 4. Try scanning again. 5. If it doesn?t work, have it serviced.
