Wave Music System with multi-cd changer. Only two years, 2 months old. CD system stopped working. Very dissapointed. Tech support at Bose was very helpful????? UNPLUG system, wait a minute and plug it back???

Like I hadn't already thought of that.

Bose Wave Radio nimmt keine CD an.

My unit is the smaller wave radio/cd player, but the same problem. The CD player quit after about 12-15 CDs were played. Called Bose and they also said to unplug the unit. No help. Their real alternative is to send the unit back to Bose (you pay the postage and insurance). They will fix it for flat fee of $130.

My guess is the CD player is a third party unit, not made by Bose. They simply replace it with another inexpensive (to them) player.

As an alternative, I simply took a cheap external player and plugged into the inputs on the back of the Wave Radio. Sounds fine, and about $100 cheaper than going back to Bose. Downside is I now have a two piece unit instead of a single piece.

I also have a Bose with CD player that works on and off. I can put a CD in and it when I press CD play it often says no Disc. Other times it turns and tunr but won't start playing, other times it does that and 30 minutes later I hear my CD start up, This has been going on for years. Got the same advise about unplugging and re pliggin it. Not sure why they think that would work. It seems like a mechinical issue .

Bose does not release their parts list or schematics, effectively creating a monopoly for service and repairs. In fact, their web site says that the Bose factory is the only option for repair. Their troubleshooting guide (below) may help, but it's very simplistic. Before you invest in expensive factory repairs (usually in the $100 range) you might want to check out the new HD radios -- better sound and a MUCH lower price.

Verify the disc is playing and the volume level is at least
      30. The Wave® music system display should indicate "Track" followed by
a number and a counter showing elapsed playing time

      • Try resetting the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

      • If only certain CDs have this problem, try the following:

        • The Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs,
MP3 encoded CDs, and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3
CDs, make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs

        • The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs.
Playability is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the
format it was recorded in and the actual disc used for recording
iTunes defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes
to make CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to
change the format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options

        • Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials
which may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are
burning your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of

        • If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches,
fingerprints or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If
it still won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc

SOURCE: hooking tv to Bose radio

You need a pair of RCA cables. You might have some extra.First if you have a cable box or satellite box you must use a pair of rca's (3 cables, yellow, red, and white ends). If you have a digital cable or satellite box the on the back there will be rca outputs.use one of the rca cables and plug it into the output of the cable box to the INPUT of the Bose stereo(they will be labled) then on the OUTPUT of the Bose take another pair of RCA cables and plug them into the rca INPUTS on the TV then use the original remote to the TV and change the Input source the either AUX 1 or AUX 2 which ever aux you pluggen the cable into coming from the output on the Bose.If you do not have a digital Cable or Satellite box then you will need a Modulator. What this is ,is a small box that will convert the regular cable coming from the wall into those RVA cables that would plug into the INPUT of your Bose. you can get a modulator from walmart meijer radioshack...ect for about $20.Hope this helps, rate me if it does or leave more info.GOOD LUCK.

SOURCE: Non-working CD in Bose wave radio

Try replacing the battery on the bottom of the system - alot of people miss it because you have it constantly plugged into the mains, but replacing this (somehow) re-sets the system, and 9 times out of 10 solves the issue.

Why does my bose wave radio turns itself off every twenty minutes?

I am not sure how to fix your radio; but my wave radio wasn't working and I took it into a Bose store and got an excellent trade in for a new one. I traded a wave radio without a CD player for a new Wave radio with a CD player. I would take your radio into the nearest Bose store.

I copied some music to a disk with 4 different formats but the bose radio wont play any of them.

The Bose Wave Radio doesn't have a CD player. The Bose Wave Radio/CD does.

It will only play standard music CD's with standard CD Audio on them.
