Paperport selection on printer, but item does not print to paperport
I can select paperport as an option for printing. When I do, it prints to the biport, but it never transfers to my paperport file. In essence, it prints to nowhere. How can I get it to print to my paperport file.
Re: Paperport selection on printer, but item does not...
Hi Try this solution: Go to your printers and faxes control panel and right mouse on say the paperport colour image printer. Now select the Paperport tab and you will find where the images are being sent! Probably in the bowls of documents and settings; all users bla bla. Change this to where you want them to go. I changed mine to drop into the MyPaperPort Documents folder for ease of use.Do the same for the black and white printer if you like.

Re: Paperport selection on printer, but item does not...
In Windows 7 go to Start > Devices and Printers > right-click on Paper Port Image Printer A printer window pops up for this printer. When I did this there was a queue of documents lined up to be printed, but nothing was printing. I figured probably the top document was defective and plugged up the plumbing. So I deleted all documents then clicked the button for printing a test document. It worked, and the image printer worked again to print to paper port from other programs.

Others who have had similar issues (based on Microsoft Technet and Microsoft Answers site) have reported that there was a folder in the Paperport initialization that caused the issue. More specifically, they found that it was a file in that directory, but the file type varied.
Check the error in the Event Viewer
(Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools\Event Viewer.lnk)
Go to the Windows Logs and check the Application and System logs to find the details of the error.
If this does not help,
try selecting "print as" or "print..."(notice the three dots)
these options should allow you to select the device you wish to print to before printing.
Select the printer you wish to print to in the drop down box at the upper portion of the window and select print
try clearing the jobs waiting buffer. click on files and see what's still waiting to be printed- clear it if there's nothing important. sometimes pulling the power cord out, wait 15 minutes reset the computer works. try powering down the printer first good luck!
PaperPort 9 won't work on Windows 7. I tried compatibility mode and it still doesn't work. If you have a son or grandson in full time education you may be able to buy PaperPort 14 from www.software4students,co.uk for a very low price.
PaperPort 9 is not supported for Win7. You need to upgrade your product or use a Virtual computer running a different OS. PaperPort 10 is being tested with Win7. PaperPort 11.2 and PaperPort 12 are fully supported under Win7. (My household has PaperPort 11. It doesn't work consistently with Win7 and a generic Win7 driver for an older scanner.)
With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you have the option of downloading and installing the XP mode. (This actually takes two downloads.) Once you are running the virtual XP computer, you can install the PaperPort 9 and the scanner (if you want to capture the files from there). To share images with the real computer, files may need to be stored to external media. Hardware can only be installed to one "computer" and you will be prompted to uninstall the device from the other computer.
It does not describe windows Vista, so I think it is not compatible with windows Vista, so there is 2 thing you can do :
1. you can see if it runs in compatibility mode, and you do it in this way : Highlight the program icon on the desktop or in the start folder, choose properties, select the last tab, choose compatibility mode with windows xp and try to open the program
2. If it is not working maybe you can upgrade to a newer version, for that you have to go to the product homepage . Normally you find a link in the program where you can go to the product homepage.
Hope this can help Have a nice Christmas over there
To scan directly to email in Jpeg format when pressing a designated button on
the scanner. This may work for other scanner models, Paperport versions, and
image formats. Basically, all that is required is to create a new link in
Paperport, enable the format conversion options, then select this link in
the OneTouch panel. However, there are a couple of hiccups along the way
that may prevent this from working. First, if you choose JPEG as the only format choice for conversion it will
not work. For some strange reason you must enable other formats for conversion choices even if just for effect. Secondly, after creating the new link in PaperPort you may find that the
selected icon does not appear in the OneTouch control panel. In order to get it to show you have to refresh the panel by selecting an Icon with the same
executable as the one you created and then clicking on the Options button on
the lower left hand corner. Once you close the Options window the new link
icon is now visible. If you choose to delete a link in Paperport but it has
not deleted from the OneTouch control panel, simply do the same thing you had to in order to get it to appear, that is, select another link icon that
has the same executable and click the options button.
Lastly, there another strange quirk that I haven't been able to nail down
yet but it seems that sometimes you must wait several seconds for changes to
take effect and at other times you must open and close a window a few times for the changes to take effect.
Before you print, look at the print preview. If it shows your document, then the problem is with the printer. If the page is shown blank, the problem is different. Check your Print dialogue screen (File menu, then Print to see the dialogue screen) . have a look what you have selected under the item Page Range. I believe you have clicked SELECTION without actually selecting anything on the document. If that is the case, undo it by clicking on another option Best of luck
If you find the folder in which the scanned items are - it may be your my pictures or somewhere in your my documents you can delete them from there by clicking and dragging to select them all then pressing 'delete.'
You may also want to try holding down 'Ctrl' and selecting them all then pressing delete.
