Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Cannot print with wireless network

Dear experts

I have a problem with my "HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One" and I'm just about
ready to throw the "non-printing" printer out the window so I hope you can help.

My printer is on my local network connected to my router. I have 3 laptops
and when I try to print, the connection is done wireless through the network.

The issue is that sometimes it prints fine (say for an hour), but most of the time it simply doesn't.

I get different erros; for instance, sometimes is an error message indicating something about the queue, or it just hangs on the printer queue indicating is waiting for the printer, or the file disappears from the queue as if had printed - but is not, and the final problem is that sometimes after rebooting everything (all the PC's, disconnecting the modem, router, and even the printer) if I'm lucky I can print one document and that's it.

I already tried re-installing the drivers, I tried changing to a fix IP address, and asked every expert I know, and the problem remains the same.

Could you please help me ??

thanks

Well, unfortunately my PC is right beside the printer. But I would guess that if your suggestion had something to do with my printer I would also have trouble accessing the internet, since I get both through the same network.

But before I throw the darn thing away, let me tell you what HP's experts had suggested and obviouly had not worked. I send you with the hope you can finally point something that really helps.

    - stop and re-start everything

    - re-install the printer drivers

    - set a fix IP address

    - stop and restart the spooler service

    - un-install the internet security (!?) - can you believe this !!

    - create a new port for the printer

    - get my PC closer to the printer

    Anything else I should try?

At one point I asked if the internet security (I'm using TrendMicro 2007) could have something to do with my problem but I know that even when I turn it off my printer does not work.

I have a similar problem with my officejet 7310. I have this connected to a multi-port print server instead of having it stand alone on the network. I can print fine from my computer hard wired to the router, but not on my wireless connection. Here is the strange part though: my wireless pc can connect to other printers on the same multi-port print server. I have noticed that when I try to print from the wireless pc, the printer reacts momentarily and then the print job disappears from queue.

You may be having some signal problems, try putting your printer near the vicinity of your computer, if it does print perfectly try installing a repeater or signal booster along the path of our wireless network, or change the location of either your PC or printer location away from any barriers such as walls and thick doors i have the same issue before,

printing wireless-ly should be a big relief

How do I set up a wireless printer. I am on a wireless network now. How do I make my printer wireless??

The HP Officejet 7310 has an optional bluetooth wireless adapter. If you purchased the option, you will need bluetooth connectivity at your computer end. Alternatively, you could purchase a third party wireless adapter.
Other than that, you will need to connect your printer to your router/wireless network then all computers will be able to print wirelessly to it through the router.
Hope this helps.

If this problem arises check for updated printer drivers, compatibility between your wireless printer and Windows Vista and firewall settings. All or any of this could prevent your HP wireless printer from printing documents. Setting up wireless printers is very easy; however, sometimes certain settings can create hassles for you.

Problems connecting to printer

The Officejet 7310 does not have wireless capability, this was a feature for the Officejet 7410. If your 7310 is connected via wired LAN to a wireless router but the computer does not find it try assigning an IP address manually. Make sure the IP address for the printer is on the same subnet as your laptop or other wireless devices.

Also, if you are using Vista the original drivers will not work, you will need to download updated drivers from HP's website here.

HP Officejet 7310 All-in-One will not install to Vista OS

It won't work with Vista. You'll have to throw it away. Seriously, HP didn't write any drivers for it or any new software for it and Vista. This has always been one of the major complaints with Vista and printers.
