I have a 12yo Sharp r-430cs microwave. The LED is not displaying all the "lights" in the numbers/alpha readouts. It is missing a lot more of the readout than it is showing. Everything else is working

Go to Sharp's website and check availability of the clock/timer readout board. Being that old you may not be successful, but it;s worth a try.

How to replace frigidaire professional microwave display?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you want to know how to replace the display on your Frigidaire microwave. Typically, this is not a do it yourself job, as there are no step by step instruction manuals. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your appliance and should be able to replace the display with ease. Hope this is helpful.

Adjust display brightness on frigidaire PLMV168

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the display on your Frigidaire microwave, model# PLMV168, is dim and you are wondering if there is a way to make it brighter. There is not a way to make the display on your microwave brighter. That is the particular design of your appliance. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your microwave status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Plmvz169gcc lost power

The service manual is here.

It may be a defective 20A fuse, a blown magnetron temperature fuse, or a problem on the control circuit board, which can be economically repaired.

There is a YouTube video here showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Once the controller is off, you should be able to access the magnetron's temperature fuse for testing and possible replacement.

You can order parts from the Pros here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

My Frigidaire microwave model# PLMVZ169GCC does not heat food. It runs and makes a loud noise, the plate turns but does not heat up. It is only 2 yesrs old. Thank you for your help.

Intermittent load noise (usual intermittent pulse noise is exaggerated) and the food is not heating though everything else seems to opperate normally: The Triac or Diode is capute.

You need to replace this part (@$30), but first need to discharge the capacitor, which is dangerous. I am going to give it a "shot", and not a "shock", all the punn intended. I will use an long insulated screw driver to touch both of the 2/3 tines of the adjacent capacitor, which will give a load "POP!" 2-3x to insure the stored energy is diffused.
Then, hopefully, simply replace the longe wire diode.
TaDa!
