Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Had the box 360 60gb for 3 weeks. Been running it via the tv scart option with yellow wire and audio red & white. Worked for 3 weeks until during playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood the screen went completely fuzzy, the colour on the screen starts to bleed all the way down the screen and now even when the xbox is turned on there is no signal. There are no red lights or warning sites of a fault, however it will not work and my Samsung Plasma 42'' does not detect a signal anymore. Took it back to the shop where they tested the unit and they claim that it started up fine and played fine for 45 minutes without a problem. I have taken off all the colour dynamic options and enhancements on my TV and still it is no good. I have also tried switching to the HDTV option on the xbox cable (whilst also changing the ports on the back of the TV to match) but still no good. Please could you help?

Maybe someone stepped on your cables try getting different cables.

For example if your tv is hd get a hdmi cable or buy another set of those cables.

Maybe it will help.

I have trouble setting up my 50 inch T.V. It is connected to a VCR/DVD player recorder. I have a red, yellow, and white cable. Do I need anything more?

If possible use a AV SCART connection lead as you get audio & video! If you want to use the phono connection you need to connect all 3 red/white/yellow to the TV and the VCR/DVD! Red & white are audio, yellow video!

How to connect Sky digibox & DVD recorder to Samsung UE46ES6300 TV

Buy 2 hdmi leads and use one to connect sky TV decoder to the hdmi 1 socket on the back of the TV and if your DVd recorder has an hdmi socket attach it to hdmi 2 or leave it on the scart socket
as you don't name your dvd recorder the connections available are unknown
hdmi is the best followed by component which requires a 3 cable lead 3 video (video is red green blue plugs ) audio is red and white which is a 2 wire lead which all are needed to get video and audio to your TV
scart is the lowest quality along with composite video

How to hook up dvd player with red blue and green connectors to direct tv box with red yellow and white connectors

The Red Blue And Green are for things like projectors they send out the 3 colours to make up the TV screen.
The Red and White connectors are right and left audio the yellow is video.
I don't think you can connect these two together. So unless the box has a scart socket and the DVD player one also you are stuck.
If there's a problem caused by a shortage of scart sockets, then can I suggest a Scart Switching Box from places such as Amazon, shown below:

Connecting Alba DVD to Toshiba TV

If the TV has the red, white and yellow sockets on it you can use an adapter. It's a scart plug on one end (for the DVD player) and 3 little round sockets on the other, usually red, white and yellow, sometimes red, black and yellow, like this:Amazon.
Then you need an audio/video lead with red, white and yellow plugs on both ends like this:Amazon

Or one of these:Amazon

You could also use a multi socket scart adapter to add more scarts to your TV:Amazon

I got a new nintendo wii today and everything works fine but the sound doesnt come on what should i do? i made sure everything was lined up right

The quickest thing you can try is to connect it to another TV and see if it works.
There are various methods for connecting the Wii to the TV. In the box you should have a component video lead with red, white & yellow connectors. These can be connected directly to the corresponding inputs on the TV or you can connect them to the SCART adaptor and then connect that to a SCART input on the TV. Try using the red, white & yellow leads directly if possible, just in case the scart converter is faulty. If you have more than one set of RWY connectors on your TV then make sure you are using the correct set (you might connect the yellow video to one set and accidentally connect the red & white audio to another set). If you are using the SCART input then try swapping to another input if possible.
Make sure the all the connections are fully pushed into the Wii and the TV.

I am trying to hook up this VCR to a digital TV and the cable has red, white and yellow but the back of the VCT only has white and yellow, what do i connect to which color?

Well I will tell you what the colours mean first. RED is right audio and WHITE is Left audio. YELLOW is Video.
I don't think it will matter if you plug the white or red into white, but the yellow must go into yellow. Is the device with white & yellow mono and not a stereo device? As that would explain why it's not got a red terminal.
Wouldn't it be better to connect via the scart socket, they must have both got one. If you are using the scart on the TV for something else, you could get one of these switching boxes from Amazon.

I have just inherited a panasonic VCR and some old family movies that i want to watch on my samsung lcd tv. I do not have a scart lead but have the wires white red yellow on both ends, how can i connect...

I assume you mean the white, red and yellow wires have phono plugs on them? Or phono sockets, whatever - the yellow is video, the white is left audio and the red is right audio.
You can get a scart plug with these sockets on the back so you can plug them into it. You can also get a scart plug with the 3 cables coming out it with phono plugs on the end.
You should be able to get them from Amazon etc.

Connecting the dvd player via a scart cable

If you select component in on the tv, this should give you a picture, using the current set up. As for audio, depending on the tv, have you used audio in on the tv, or audio out?
It sound obvious but I (even after 5 years+ of installing tv/vcr/dvd) still get caught out with input and out put.
I am unfamiliar with Sansui dvd, if it has a scart connection on the back then yes you can connect to a spare scart on the tv. If it has the single yellow phono for video and the red/white phonos for sound, you can buy a scart to phono lead and use that, not to confuse with the component(blue/green/purple) connections. You cuold also connect the yellow/red/white phono to the same on the tv front/side or rear if available.

I connected my new tv with a dvd-vhs player, i can see the dvd but it has no sound can you help me

If you are using a Scart connector, make sure it is fully pushed into the scart sockets on both the TV & DVD, If you are using composite cables (3 leads coloured yellow/whie & red), ensure the red & white cables are coming from the Audio Out on the DVD & going into the Audio IN on the TV. The yellow one will be correct as this is the video content.
