Question about AKG K142HD HIGH DEFINITION CLOSEDBACK STUDIOQUALITY HEADPHONES

Open Question

My K142 HD now works only on the left side. By pushing down on the right side of the headphone the right side becomes active. Once released the sound disappears. This problem started after I dropped them from my desk onto the floor (only a 3 to four feet in height).

Left speaker not working

I don't believe it to be a cable or plug problem, so it sounds like it's a speaker problem. I look up the review of these and it could have some kind of circuit built into each side. If it does it could be that. As they are not cheap headphones by the look of it, perhaps worth repairing. But if the speaker has gone, it might be as much as a new pair.

I have headphones and the left earbud doesn't work, please help!

Ok so it sounds (no pun intended) like either the L speaker itself is blown or the solder connection has become broken for the left side. So you can either try to fix them or if possible replace with a new pair. You can get a very good set of ear buds for for reasonable price at...TJ Max. Yes no joke I bought mine there at they are great and they were only 7.99 but dont let the price fool you, they are of HD quality and brand.

Left Ear cup not working.

Either ship them back to manufacturer if still under waranty or you'll have to re-solder the wiring to that speaker if they have become disconnected or yanked accidentally of which the leftside is usually where the headphone cable first enters in the left side.

1985 corvette, pulled the hood release and the diverside opened but not the passengers side so now i can't open the hood, how do i release the passenger side that is stuck

have someone push down on that part of the hood while you pull the release. Usually that frees it and it should be adjusted up so it will open again

Where is the signal flasher located

on the indicator stalk left and behind the steering wheel connected ot the steeing column if you push it away if will set the headlights to high beam if you push it towards you fully it will flash the headlamps.

the indictors to signal left and right are also on the left stalk push down for left and up for right.

the hazzard flasher is located in the middle of the dashboad above the radio and is a red triange depress once to activate and once again to deactivate.

if the wiper active at any time then try the stalk on the oposite side of the steering wheel.

Headphone jack seemingly screwed up

What generally happens to connectors, especially exposed to air is they oxydize.

Buy a can of "Contact Cleaner" from a local Radio Shack and spray it (through the thin tube usually provided) into the jack. One quick push, dont flood it. Take the earphone jack and insert and remove it several times, wiping off excess, which sould clear contacts and it should work normally again. If not it would have to be replaced which is no easy matter requiring an experienced Technician or Factory. Sometimes it cannot be replaced without damaging the Mother Board. This however sounds like a common problem the Contact Cleaner will fox

Cheers,

Good Luck :)

Bose Headphones only works on left side.

Have same problem. Play with the plug in the socket. I'll bet it you can occasionally get both working. Not a solution since it probably won't stay working. I have an old plug and it fails too. I'm afraid they did't make their plugs to the right tolerances. Used to work once. Annoying for this expensive a headphone.
