Question about Philips GoGear HDD1830 MP3 Player
I am going by a few tips in the user manual for this device. I cannot see what suggestions were made by other consultants. That is how the fixya system works.
I think you have tried the Reset function. What about the Repair function with the Philips Device Manager (page 42).
I noticed there is a firmware upgrade that came in 2006 for this device. Have you done the upgrade.
See this site for details.
Considering your battery is dying out, I would suggest leave it on the charger when you are trying it out.

You need to update the firmware. Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged. Try another USB port and reset the player

Welcome to Fixya
Try to do a soft reset to the unit.
Thank you for using Fixya!

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
