Hi!
Lenovo does not provide recovery discs for their systems. You would have to call Lenovo to request for one. They also have Lenovo Care, a fee-based software support if you need help reinstalling Windows 7.
You can try to call 1-877-737-1082

    hi,

You can reinstall thewindows 7 home edition by using the one key recovery button ( OKR ). Remove the battery of the computer and unplugged the charger then press and hold the power button for one minute, obviously, it will not turn on since there is no power supply connected, after one minute, connect the laptop directly to the power outlet and then, while the computer is off, there is a button near the power button that has a drawing of an arrow going to the left or going down, like a horse shoe or a headset, its just a little button, while the computer is off, press and hold that button for 5 seconds, you will see there an option that says One Key Recovery, choose that option then after that, choose restore from initial back up then click ok and start, it will start restoring your computer to the factorys default, once done, click ok, then click done and choose reboot, once reboot it allow you to set up the windows 7 again. By the way, once you do the One Key Recovery, it will delete all your data so if you have some files saved on the computer, ou better back up all your files. And also, if nothing happens, you can contact lenovo and asked for the recovery disc, tell them that OKR button is not working and they will provide you the disc for free, the no is 1877-453-6686.

    Hope this will help...

I got the 8-14 update from MS that shut me down. I am running win7 64 bit on the G560. 4 weeks of torture, as everything ran like molasses uphill in January! I could get most DOCS and CERTS and bookmarks off, but that was a horribly slow process. I could not reload from the dvd\'s I burned when I set the beast up, as that drive fried about a year ago. Likely my fault, and it\'s a longish story.

Anyways, I couldn\'t figure out the one key recovery either. I had found a guide to remove the optical drive, and I had to remove the battery and unplug it. I plugged it back in and tried the red horseshoe button. No joy. I then attached the battery, plugged it in, and hit the recovery key. Do not turn on machine, just hit that key. It fired back up in a flash. You may have to hold it down for the count of 20. It shouldn\'t take that long, but you must be patient.

It reloaded my original settings in about 35 minutes. Not bad. Everything came back, as when I first set it up. I am sold on Lenovo!

Oh, and I couldn\'t find any internal dvd rewrite drives locally, and so have one due within a week, which I will install.

Question. Does anyone know if the recovery program will work more than once?

How to partition the HD into two portion with OS windows 8?

Hold the Windows logo key on your keyboard and press "R" (Winkey+R). This will launch the Run the utility. Type "diskmgmt.msc" inside the text box and press Enter. This will open the Windows Disk Management utility. This is where you can format, create, and delete hard drive partitions.
order to create a partition, you need unallocated space. Unallocated space is basically disk space that is not formatted or not prepared for storage. Formatting is the act of preparing a disk space for storage. It similar to building a foundation for a place to be inhabited. Thus, unallocated space is just useless blank space with no "foundation" or format.
To create unallocated space, you need to shrink your hard drive. When you shrink your hard disk, the remaining space becomes unallocated.
To do this, right-click your main drive and select "Shrink Volume."
You will then see the region of unallocated space (shaded black). Remember, this space is not yet usable.
Now you need to create "foundation" or format for the unallocated space. This will allow for the space to become usable.
Right-click the region of unallocated space and select "New Simple Volume."
This will launch the New Simple Volume Wizard. This will guide you through the installation process.
ssign the disk a drive letter. You can choose any drive letter that is not currently in use.
Select a file system for the disk. The file system is basically the type of format or "foundation" the storage device has. If you plan on installing a Windows OS to the partition select the"NTFS" file system.
Name the partition in the "Volume Label" text box. You can choose any name for your partition.
Now click "Finish" to create the new partition.

I recommend you to use AOMEI Partition Assistant Server Edition. It is a magic tool to manage your disk better. With its help, it is a piece of cake to create partitions as many as you can, no matter primary or logical. It is really worthy using, because I used it before.

I want to install xp sp-2 32 bit on my lenovo g560 already having win7 32 bit can i install win xp ???? i want to format my only c drive and i want to keep both o.s. on my system. please help me.

you will not be able to do that because if you format c: drive you will loose Win 7, you can though, partition the c: drive and then add winxp to the new drive which should be d: drive now by booting from xp disk and choosing to install on d: drive only

Have a travel mate 2423wxci preinstalled windows xp home edition. Have formated the hard drive but can't find the recovery disk. How do I get one?

Hi,

Did you format the whole drive?

If you didn't fully format the drive then the Recovery Partition could still be intact.

Start the laptop up and at the splash screen keep tapping F10 or ALT+F10 and if the Recovery Partition is intact the laptop will start the recovery process, if you get a message say BOOT EXECUTE/NO then the partition is not there.

You have 2 options now:
  1. Call Acer and get a set of recovery disc's, will cost approx between £20-60 for a set of discs.
  2. Buy a copy of XP home edition and then download all the drivers for your hardware.
Thanks
