Code error 10 no sound

go to the device manager, uninstall the existing audio driver, then download the latest driver for your audio controller/sound card through the Dell support site, or the manufacturer of your sound card.

Hye.....i have to install audio drivers on my dell gx260 but i havenot these drivers yet .....so plz tell me the link from where i get these drivers

You can download all the drivers for your GX260 directly from Dell's Drivers and Downloads page for free. The "Choose by Service Tag" option is the best way to go - but any of the others will work, too.

Resist going to 3rd party "driver download web pages" as everything you need is available from Dell directly - unless of course you've added or changed expansion cards (VGA, etc.) to your GX260.

My lan drivers disappeared after formatting optiplex GX260. What do i do?

You'll need to access Dell's Drivers and Downloads page from another computer that has internet access, and supply the Service Tag (or other method of choice) information to obtain a list of drivers for your GX260. Assuming you're using the original LAN card, you'll have to download and install the required driver to restore network functionality from the Dell site (if other than a GX260 LAN card, you'll have to go to the LAN card manufacturer's site for drivers).

There may be more than one LAN driver from which to choose. If unsure which version you have - you'll need to get all of them and install them one at a time until you find the one needed by your machine.

Does Dell model CX260 desktop have a sound card pc slot, or doesn't need one?

if the back of the computer has 3 jacks colored either red, blue, pink, or green, then it has a built in sound card.if not, then it requires a sound card. You can purchase a usb sound card if you are not comfortable installing a sound card inside a pc.

I loose the sound for PC

You need to update or reinstall the driver for the sound card.Dell support and drivers will have your driver for the sound card if its OEM with your computer. Just enter your computer modal number find the right driver and install as instructed. If this doesn't apply to you this is where I get my drivers link included. If you have a problem let me know make and modal of computer and sound card if not OEM. and I will try to find the driver. Please rate me mysleuth

No sound driver

You will need to go on the DELL web site and try and download the sound drivers, under the Driver downlads. You will need to know what model you have in order to find the correct drivers. Let me know if you need help. I will require the model number of the computer and also if i's onboard or if it is a card inserted into the motherboard, known as a PCI sound card.

Installing a sound card into my Optiplex GX260

Hi

OptiPlex GX260 can be Small Form-Factor, Small Desktop or Small Mini-Tower. Compatibility with PCline 5.1 PCI depends on the profile of the PCI Card and the Profile of your OptiPlex.

GX260 Small Form-Factor is compatible with Low-Profile PCI Cards only. GX260 Small Desktop and Small Mini-Tower are compatible with standard PCI Cards. (Small Mini-Tower however uses a PCI Cage).

Check OptiPlex GX260 Systems User's Guide - http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/opgx260/en/ug/index.htm
From here you visualize the 3 form factors. Also there is info and steps to install PCI cards.

NB:
1. Generally, upmarket PCI cards are standard height. Some manufactures supply a metal piece to allow it to be used in Low-Profile or Standard Profile.
2. Driver software needs to be installed after the hardware is installed.

Dell sound problem

sounds like the virus is still in the computer. you have to get something like Mc Afee virus protection, or Symantecs Spysweeper to get rid of it, and then you should be able to reinstazll the driver. If this does not work, try doing a system restore to the date before this started happening. to do this, go start programs, accessories, tools/system tools, the rest is self explanatory.
