Most of the time it's because the card is full, try another card. If that don't work check the memory card for a little slide mechanism, it's used to lock the card. It is usually located on the side.

I cannot delete photos from my camera it says

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Recover deleted photos

Yes, there is a way to retrieve photos from your Pentax camera.

Chances of recovery can be high as long as you act as soon as possible and stop using the digital camera to take more photos or videos, also keep the camera memory card in good shape (no physical damage).

Then you can rely on a digital camera data recovery software to get the job done and retrieve your photos. Here shows a list of good ones (for PC/Mac) http://www.digital-camera-recovery.com/

You'll need to connect the camera (mass memory card) to your computer. Then install the program to start scan & recover your files. Should be easy to get back your lost memories!

Installing SD Memory Card

Your camera has a memory card slot that enables you to insert any "SD" compatible memory card up to 8BG. Adding a memory card will allow you to increase the capacity of your camera before you have to transfer photos and videos to your PC. Install the SD memory card as below:

  1. Locate the Memory Card slot within the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the Memory card into the slot in the correct direction. (see the sketch below)

  1. Push the card in until you feel it "click" into position. The top of the card should be flushed with the surface of the camera. An icon will appear on the LCD screen after you turn on your camera.
  2. Once the external memory card is inserted into the camera all the images taken with the camera will be stored on the card.

Note:

  1. Limited internal memory is provided for test images. The image will be deleted when camera power is turned off. Please download the images before power off .SD memory card is required for normal use.
  2. An external memory card is required for normal use. Your camera supports any compatible SD memory card (up to 8GB).
  3. If there is a photo in the internal memory when you insert the card into your camera, a "Copy to card" message will appear on the LCD with Yes or No options. On selecting 'Yes' the photo will now be copied to your card.
  4. Formatting will delete all data on the SD memory card including protected data.

  1. Don't remove the SD card during formatting as this may damage the card and render it unusable.
  2. When your card is full, download the media on the SD card to your PC and delete the photos and videos from it in order to continue using your

I have a Fiji Finepix Z20fd camera, and have approx 350 photos on the memory. Yesterday the message "memory full" appeared when i tried to take a photo so naturally i attempted to delete a some to make...

Having pics on both the internal memory and a memory card is asking for trouble. Take out the card and download the internal memory to your computer. Then, go into the menu and find "format" and erase the internal memory. Then, download all the pics from the memory card using a separate card reader. Then, insert the card into the camera and do the format thing again to erase and optimize the card. Now you have a fresh start...never use the internal memory again.

Need to delete protected pictures

Try to remove first the memory card of your camera. After you remove the card you can see a small button at the side of the memory card. Just slide the small button to unprotected. Insert your memory card back to your camera and try to delete pictures.

Can we rescue deleted photos. We have deleted all files by mistake. Is there anything we can do?

I'm writing with the assumption that your camera has a memory card installed and that the photos were saved to this card.

So long as you have not used the camera since the photos were erased there is a possibility that the photos may be able to be recovered.

While there are various software packages for sale (and some even free) that may claim to recover the photos for you, my suggestion is to find a well known and reputable computer repair shop in your area. They should have a means to recover the photos for you. It is important however that you not use the camera for ANYTHING in the meantime.
