SOURCE: Slow start

(I'm copying a guest's comment above. What Gateway told him does seem to work - although in my case, the monitor was slow to start when plugged directly into the wall, and it was immediately fixed when I plugged it back into a heavy duty power bar.)

hey, I had the same problem. Gateway told me "Plug the monitor power plug directly into a wall electrical outlet
or a different wall outlet by removing any surge suppressors." I did that and it works. It might be a certain kind of power bar they do not like. It worked for me so try that and see if that helps.

SOURCE: Gateway fpd2485w lcd shows video then cuts off

I'm pretty sure the inverter board is bad. you have to replace it if you can or you can let someone else do it. you should find some on ebay for about $80 (not too bad compared to the cost of the monitor: over $200). but its up to you. But first, you should find out if you are still under warranty. good luck. please rate!!

SOURCE: Gateway monitor fpd2185w goes to sleep and then shuts off

I suggest to mess around with the monitor buttons and see if you can disable it from sleeping from there. If not then try enabling it to sleep on your computer settings. A good restart after any changes is always helpful.

How do you potty train a dog?

It is easy but very time consuming.Get a kennel.Keep the dog in the kennel at night.Take the dog outside every two hours and put it on the grass. When it does its thing praise it and give it a snack. When it goes in the house,if you see it say bad dog and take it to the grass. If you do not see it just clean it,they don`t realize there is a problem after the fact.Dogs live in the moment.Do not leave the dog in the kennel for more than four hours at night. This means at bed time put the dog in the kennel and 4 hours later wake up and take it outside.Be consistent, always.Praise the dog when it does right and give it a treat, scold it when it does bad.Be patient this takes time.

No signal with acer moniter

Check your power settings on your PC (Start Button ---> Settings ---> Control Panel ---> Power Options)

Under the "Power Schemes" tab you will find the dialogue "Turn off monitor:" and then your choice. The power option refers to the SIGNAL sent to the monitor, not the actual monitors power-source itelf (although some can control both). It will simply stop sending a signal to the monitor and "put it to sleep"

Change the setting to what is appropriate for your use, and you should be set!

Hope this helps!

AOC Monitor says "no signal" and won't wake up!

This monitor refuses to wake up because it cannot find the signal from the computer.

When the light is amber, force the pc to shut down by holding the power button until all lights go off. Then, after about 10 seconds, power the pc back up again.

If this does not start your monitor, unplug all the monitors connections and plug them back in again. These things should reform the connection from the pc to the monitor.

good luck

It turns off, or goes to sleep. Won't wake up.

Hello there topothemorni,

Are you familiar with Windows' "Power Options" module, and that within it you can tweak all things related to power saving (e.g., system sleep, hibernate, and automatic MONITOR shut off)? More than likely you just need to make a visit there and make some desired adjustments.

[Control Panel > Power Options]
... OR ...
Start > Run > type "powercfg.cpl" (without quotes), then hit Enter.

Once there, you'll probably find most everything self-explanatory.

Also, it may be responding to configurations adjustable from within the monitor itself. Somewhere on the monitor there will be a OSD (On Screen Display / Setup) button of some type, where from there you'll be able to make whatever necessary tweaks. Refer to its documentation if you don't find it self-explanatory.

Good luck and please let me know if you have any further questions, and/or just to let me know how things worked out.

ViewSonic Monitor has trouble to wake up after been shut down?

Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.
