Wow, general problem here, but the most near your problem could be, power failure, or the Power adapter is bad, or a energy failure at home, time to buy a new adapter.

SOURCE: shutdown; red LED blinks 4x

The Error 4 is refering to a I2C4 communication error between SSB (small signal board), and the Logic board ( located underneath the SSB (under the bracket). Very high probability the SSB is bad. current replacement SSB 12nc is 313926809052

SOURCE: Harman Kardon AVR 154 OSD setup screen wont display

It will only display via component. Your HDMI firmware is either 1.1 or 1.2 and has HDCP issues (High Definition Copyright Protection) it's a firmware problem that has been fixed on all new receivers, not just a HK issue, all receivers! the new version 1.3a and 1.3b have fixed the issue. Unfortunately you cannot update the firmware on the receiver. Hope this explains it for you, sorry! Lot's of angry people out there!!! myself included.

SOURCE: taking apart harman/kardon subwoofer

turn the sub upsidedown, carefully remove the clear rubber feet (these are a dome fitted over a mushroom top), using the toothed gripper cutout of a pair of pliers (when closed it is the eye shaped opening visible on one side), grip the mushroom firmly but not so hard as to crush the mushroom and gently ease clockwise and anticlockwise (the mushroom is at one end of a clear plug blocking access to the four screws that hold the two parts together.
Be carefull to use the correct size screwdriver so as not to damage the screw heads as they are tight.
On reassembly, you may need to use glue to replace the rubber feet if the mushroom becames damages during removal.

Poineer deck amplifier dc-z74 relays click but set deck does not come on no display lights dead unit

Part of your PowerSupply is Frito.
Probably the +/- 15 volt rails, could be other.
Check inside power voltages, probably some regulators are gone.
Preferably get a tech unless you have the know-how and test equipment...

Where to buy transistor for hk3480 part num 328 kca3114

Hello,

Are you sure that is the part number? The HK-3480 uses a KTC3114A and is quite easy to find. Q317 and Q318 in your receiver.

Make sure you see the numbers correctly.

Hk3480 buzzing

Is the buzzing coming over the speakers or just from the receiver itself?
If over the speakers:
Try swapping ports on the receiver from the DVD. Go from DVD into an auxiliary video or VCR 2 if available.
Try swapping out the cables with known good ones.
But do this in steps to be able to nail down the problem and not just leave a mystery.
If the sound is solely coming from the receiver it could be a dusty fan. Blow it out with compressed air ,With the Power Off.
Or, my favorite, might just have to crank it up so you can't hear the buzzing.
good luck

Amplifier/receiver switches off systematically after a few second of use

Sounds like a bad output channel is causing it to go into protect mode. Time to see a repair tech.
