Unfortunately the error message 5 indicates that the thermal block and/or thermal sensor and possibly a control board need to be tested, and likely one or more, possibly all, replaced. My recommendation is to send it to Capresso ask what it will cost first. M
Have you tried replacing the operating thermastat it's what shuts it off at the right temp and would cause the thermal fuse to go if it is not shuting.off at the right temp. It happens.

Spoke w/ my husband about this. He says its perfectly normal, they are all like this. The company buys these in bulk and if were supposed to cut off at 100 degrees, and they get a batch of 50 degrees, its less expensive to just use the two. Hope that helps.
okay google these, and tell us what it is: IDE, Sata, or SCSI. If you don't have the same connection on both the computer and drive, then you need a new drive then that has that connection, my suggestion is to go to best buy and ask them if they have a * to * (the stars are what you need, and what you have) or get a new drive with that * (one you have)
