Question about Gaggenau EB 270/271 Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

Gaggenau EB388 please someone help my partner thought he was he-man and tried lifting our oven that was being moved at the time by its door....you guessed it, the door has now come off (fully) as he would not be patient and weight for his friend to help carry it. please help, it is not broke but we cannot figure out how it goes back on, weve tried different way to put it back in but it wont lock into place, do we have to take the side panels out? or who would we contact and how much would this cost as i want to sell it now on ebay as i have a new one ordered, its was only 6 months old and due to a new kitchen was forced to buy a new one so this one has been covered in my garage for a year now. kind regards Carley

Our oven door doesn't close well. When we push it shut it pulls back open a bit. What should we do?

If you removed the door for cleaning, it may not be back on the hinges all the way. If you have not taken the door off, the hinges may be bent. I have seen oven doors where children have hung on them, or someone has placed something very heavy on the door while it is open. this bends the hinges down too far, and will cause the door to remain ajar slightly. Hopefully the hinges are just not seated into the door all the way, and you can just reinstall the door.

Door lock symbol flashes all the time

this may not be very helpful Gaggenau can be really tricky
ive seen this once before a long time ago but its worth a shot
the connection from the lock sensor might be loose
you should be able to unscrew the control and roll it up
right behind it you will see the lock and connections
jiggle em
like i said a long time but i believe the connection on the control board is green

The oven sensor probe wire is broken near the switch, can this be repaired by soldering the two wires together?

no this is not a wire but a file probe. the thermostat will need to be totally replaced, approx £35 + labour.

I lifted it by its door and its came off, not broke though

ok wht you have to do is grab the hinge with pliers or your hand and fold the hinge to the open position, carefull this hinge has some pressure to it and you dont want to pinch your skin ,once the hinge is open, you want to take a screw or strong nail and stick it thru the hole that is between the top of the hinge and bottom in the center put the nail thru the hole and let the hinge close slow i,it will hold the hinge 3/4 open, now hook the door on it will be 3/4 open once you feel it latch on the door open the door all the way pull the nails out and close the door ,it takes a little practice but youll get it remember to use the nail to hold the hinge open, youll see the hole on the hinge
