How can I transfer recordings from S725 to my pc. I have windows XP

You will need to get a 2.5mm mono to 3.5mm stereo adaptor from somebody like Maplin.
The 2.5mm end of this needs to plug into your earphone jack (mono) on your S725.
Get a ready made cable with a 3.5mm stereo plug on both ends.
Put one of these plugs into your 2.5mm mono to 3.5mm stereo adaptor.
Put the other plug of this cable into the AUX input of your PC.
If you do not see an AUX 3.5mm input, look in or around the area where you would normally
plug your headset. Try checking the manual that came with your PC. Some PCs do not have "AUX" marked on the 3.5mm socket.
Be careful not to have the volume level of the S725 too high as you are testing your setup.
You might damage the Mic input of your PC if you blast too high a level at it.

Next you will need some software like Audacity (Free) to record your tapes.

Have fun but be careful if you are not sure about the connections.
Hope this helps.

Product: Ion Tape Express - Tape-To-Mp3 Converter/Player (with EZ Tape Converter software) Problem: I'm able to record my tape tracks as mp3's on the computer, but the sound is always in mono...

In all likelihood, you issue is in your recording software settings. If check the help files included with the program (hit the F1 key to pull these up) and search for stereo, I bet you find a setting on the software is set to mono.

The second spot to look is in Control panel> Sounds and Audio devices> Audio tab. Click Advanced... under Sound Recording. See what control options are available to you since they differ from one audio app to another. This should bring up the setting for your audio input, look for a setting that says stereo or mono.

Hope this is helpful to you.

ION TTSUSB10 does not record stero

I solved the problem by using www.wiki.audacityteam.org home page under the technology heading and clicking on USB turntables. The mixer had to be changed to 2 channels. (stereo)

Can I use this machine (telex copyette 123)to cancel old cassettes by copying a blank cassette onto three cassettes??

You should be able to do that with it, but note that this is a mono copying machine rather than stereo, so it may not entirely write over the existing recording if it is in stereo and the heads are in a slightly different position, but that would be the same for a stereo recorder too.
I think it will work, but really for decent recordings, I wouldn't recommend 'recycling' tapes in this way, they deteriorate fairly quickly.

Is there a stereo input for the Dell Inspiron 1100 to record?

Yes, the input is stereo BUT you need to configure Audacity to do the stereo capture. Go to File > Preferences. Once in the preferences dialog, go to the third Drop-down menu, and change from MONO to 2-channel stereo. That is.

I get an error message everytime I try to record

There is a switch on the VCR that says "tape/other". Change the switch from "other" to "tape" and you should no longer receive this message.

Recording in mono and not stereo

Thanks for your rapid response. Fortunately I discovered the problem and was able to resolve it. Whether it is just my computer or all computers I wouldn't know. When I switched my computer off, after recording vinyl to my pc, then switched it back on again my pc had reset the default input so I had to reconfigure it again. Since then I have not used it but wonder if I have to reconfigure the recording device everytime that I switch my computer on. I did make the USB Codec microphone my default recording device and applied the setting but the pc seemed to do its own thing.

All the best

DV Cassettes vs Memory Stick

Well, I went to The Sony site and what I found out was that currently this camera is only ceritfied for a 512mb stick. It does say what the qualiy is the memory stick is E-mail mode with a resultion of 160x112 pixels. The TAPE mode is DV quality or 740X480 pixels. Try recording both ways and see what looks better when you play it back on you TV or PC then decide.
