If this is an old style washer, then it should have
a bolt under the cap that must be removed to remove the agitator, then grab
hold of the agitator and lift up. If it's a not too old then the agitator just
pulls out, remove cap, if no bolt, just grab hold and lift up hard...picture.

Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

How do I remove spindle from washing bowl Model AWM270JW3062?

To remove the agitator you're going to need an extension for a socket. The size is 7/16. Remove the lid right on the tip of the agitator. There may be a plastic lid you will have to pull out of the middle. Hold the lower agitator while loosening the bolt turning your driver to the left. Be careful that part has agitator dogs in it and you don't want to lose them or your agitator wont work correctly.

Simpson ezi loader

Hi,

The bearings are pre-loaded with grease but a smear of lithium grease can be used to ease fitting into the spider. The howling could be possibly because of the drum bearings. If your machine is making a rumbling noise as the drum turns then you most likely have an issue with the drum bearings. It's possible that normal use can allow water to get to the bearings. Remove the washing machine belt and manually turn the drum. If you hear a rumble as you turn the drum then problem is the ball bearings. Remove and replace them with new ones. Not knowing if your Simpson is a direct drive through a multi -speed gear box or another method, that makes it hard to give you a definitive answer. In my experience with earlier Simpson Washing machines the agitator should lift off the Splined shaft in the bowl by gripping the bottom of the agitator on the bottom edge using both hands at 180o between them, basically one opposite the other and trying to lift the agitator off vertically straight up until it clears the splined shaft and above the top lip of the bowl at which time you can remove it from the bowl. Be careful it doesn't give way suddenly as you maybe leaning over the bowl and with the force you sometimes have to exert it might come up and strike you hard around your facial region. If the agitator either has never been lifted off or a long period of time since it was then you may have to "wiggle" the agitator whilst attempting to lift the thing of the drive shaft. Once you have removed the agitator clean and re grease the splined drive shaft with suitable grease, not too much only a smear as too much will melt and leach into the bowl and hence you'll have greasy marks on the washing. Clean out the female splined section of the agitator and again a thin film of grease should be rubbed on the female splines. Replace the agitator on the shaft and make sure it's fully the length of the shaft as it will ride up and attempt to come of the drive shaft whilst the machine is operating if it's not seated correctly. If you think there are / is foreign objects beneath the agitator that seldom happens but sometimes it can with small articles. The problem of noisy agitators can be caused by worn bearings in the drive gear box which in turn allows the agitator to move sideways a bit and that then can grind on the bottom of the bowl under the agitator or even allow a small piece of cloth to get under the agitator etc. I doubt the unit would be driven by a belt directly connected to another pulley on the agitator but only a sub bowl inspection can prove that. I've never come across a Simpson that doesn't have a 2 speed direct drive gear box for the agitator and the spin dryer.

Note:- if you aren't sure about the greasing i would recommend you to contact the company's technician.

Hope this solves your problem. Please rate me if it helped you.

Fault code 40 on fisher paykel washing machine

Hi -

Code 40 - is Bowl Fault

The electronics has sensed that the bowl is not engaged.

Check the following - Mechanical.

1. Check that there are no foreign objects causing the bowl to malfunction. As it fills up the inner bowl will disengage from the outer bowl. It will sort of freewheel as so to speak.

2. If empty of water, carry out a clutch disassembly procedure and check spline drive. - removed center of agitator, unscrew middle of the agitator a screw, remove the screws on the top pf the inner bowl to separate, will need to remove the top though to do this, usally two rubber bungs on the front screws under and the rear is normally plastic clipped/lock setup.

3. Next check that the pressure tube has not come off and that it is not kinked. - check the clear tube by blwing into the bowl as you remove the top electronics cover (2) screws top rear - do not blow into transducer on the controller module.

Electronics - if all else fails - Replace Motor Control Module.

How to clean pump from fisher & pkal smart drive 708

FIRST - remove plug from wall, then open lid and remove the rubber bungs that the front of the lid sits on, under them is 2 screws, remove them. Lift the complete upper plastic portion and rotate back against the wall. Remove the screw from inside the agitator and remove the agitator completly. Remove the bowl top cover by unclipping it from around the outer edge all the way round, note the spring position for refitting, lift out the bowl top cover and set aside. Remove bowl, can be tricky but it should lift right out. With the bowl removed, remove the large phillips screw from the plastic cover over the pump, with the screw removed, the pump cover will pull out (up) and the pump can be cleaned out.
Make sure that you clean out the channels that the water flows through around the pump impellor. refit the pump cover, ensure the rubber ring is in correct position, and secure with the screw. Reassemble in reverse order.

Test the pump for operation before doing a full load.

I have a Smart Drive Fisher & Paykel 7.5 washing Machine and my darks come out of the wash with hard to remove fluff

Hi just read your posting. Now you need to remove the bowl and give the bowl and tank a good clean.1st remove the 2 screws under the lid that are hidden under 2 plastic caps at the front of the machine. Now lift the hob gently and lean it back against the wall. Now remove the agitator cap and undo the plastic wing nut inside your agitator.Once the wing nut is removed lift the agitator out of the bowl and put it on the ground. Now grab the inside of the bowl with a hand on the left and a hand on the right and lift the bowl gently out.Take the bowl out side and clean it with a hose and brush. After the bowl is clean it is the tanks turn to be scrubbed and cleaned.Use hot water only and a brush to clean the tank.Do not worry about the water getting into the tank as this will drain out once the machine is put back together.Be careful not to splash any water on the electronic buttons.Once the tank is clean and the dirty water is at the bottom of the tank refit bowl and agitator with the wing nut.Put the hob back down on the frame and refit the 2 screws and plastic caps. Now turn the power on to the machine and select a spin cycle and push the start button. The dirty water will now drain out and job done. Now you can use the machine as normal.Hope this is helpful and if you need further assistance feel free to reply back as I always check my profile for people who need help. Also if this helped could you please reply with a comment and a rating so I know I am making a difference.God luck with the machine and bye for now.

I have intuitive eco washer and it is turning out washing with sand and grit on it. I have done a bowl clean and removed the agitator to clean it and no change.

Lusia SGrow, this model machine has a "deep cycle" automatic bowl clean that is supposed to remove lint, any residue from using fabric softener etc. So I am sure that is what they mean. NOT removing the actual bowl.

My Hoover washing machine 800RL spin cycle is slow leaving the clothes driping wet

Check and see if the bowl spins as fast as the agitator (hold a screwdriver in the lid limit switch to bypass) You may also notice clothes are severely knotted. If the bowl is slow and agitator fast then ther is a problem with the gearbox. If you know how to fix this, or remove the gearbox, please let me know.

Unscew the cap on the top of the agitator, then hit it back and forth with your hand and it will break loose. I just did it to mine today and it has not been of for twenty years.

I have the same washer and the paint started to flake from the bottom of the bowl. Rust under the baked enamel made it lift. I peeled the loose paint then applied rust converter and a zinc paint. This patch is still ok after 12 months but my wife is complaining about paint flakes and rust on some clothes. In my opinion, the only way to remove the agitator is to undo the nuts retaining the shaft from the inside. I guess I will find patches of rust under the agitator and depending on how big and deep they are will determine if I replace the machine or patch the rust.
