Question about Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive 500 GB

It suddenly stopped being recognied two days ago. The power light is on and it seems to be running ok but it is nowhere to be found on the home network

    Sorry, it is just nowhere to be found. When I run the home network media storage utility it cannot detect the disk and sometimes when I click on settings it tries to go to an IP address but I get the message that IE cannot find the page.

    I am not about to start taking the hard drive apart and there is no reason why anything should be loose.

    This is NOT a hardware failure and I didn't pay 15 bucks to hear that after two weak tries! The suggestions given were the obvious things. I want a solution. That is what I'm supposed to be paying for isn't it?

    Hi, Sorry. Nothing seems to help.

    This Home Media device is connected to an SFR broadband router and has worked perfectly well since February 2010. Nothing was done to change its settings and it just stopped being recognized on Sunday afternoon. It is essential that I access my data as it contains everything that I need for my business. I'm counting on you!

    Hi,

    This of course was the firstthing I did when the system crashed. I doesn't change anything.

    I have since bought another SATA USB enclosure and using Knoppix have managed to retrieve a certain number of files. Unfortunately, this morning while I was copying files, the system hung and I can no longer access the files I need to copy.



    I have also tried a file recovery software but, as the disk has no recognizable file system, it can't do anything.



    The disk and its three partitions are present in the disk management list but no letter is assigned to them.



    Any other ideas?

Hello,

Have you tried performing a system restore? I hope you are aware that system restore helps to revert the setting or any changes made on your computer. You can actually back date your computer to the time when this u it is working perfectly.

To perform the restore, go to Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System restore. You computer will be restarted after the restore, after that, try again.

If the above doesn't work, click start, under "Search", type in "Device Manager" and press enter.

From the device manager, go straight to USB, click the plus (+) sign, right click on each device under the USB controller and delete them one after the other. Make sure the unit is connected to the computer before performing this task.

After you have deleted them, the unit will be reinstalled by the computer. This might help to fix the problem. If it doesn't please let me know so that I may direct you further.

If it is network wired make the settings for the network again ...and remove the fire wall in the router ..if it is an usb one..change the usb port and see if it is behave the same ...also run the add new hardware wizard ...choose already added and try to reinstall it ..
take a look in the device manager and see if ti is present..if it is ..it should not appear in yellow with an ask sign on it ..if it does you need to run the dirver again ..if it do not came with a driver ..you should check it by connecting to another computer ..and if it works the problem is a driver related with your operation system ..and reinstalling the computer will fix it ..
If it is firewire connected you probably need to enable the firewire again (or reinstall the firewire driver ) ..and for the enabling go to the bios settings ..and in there engage the optimal factory settings ..This will enable the firewire again ..(also usb ports if they have issue )

Check the device if it is being detected at the computer management. Click start menu then righ click Computer then click manage. Look at disk management and see if you external HD is there. If it is there, you might need to change the drive letter only for it to be detected by you computer. Just right click on the drive and click change drive letters.

    have you tried using the device with other computer. If you will experience the problem using other computer then you might need to check the harddrive inside the enclosure. There are instances that the harddrive inside has loose connection.

    the default IP address fro your network driver should be 192.168.0.3. Please type this IP address to your Internet explorer address bar. the correct format should be \\192.168.0.3

    have you tried turning off/on the device including your router? Just to refresh the connectivity of the devices. If same thing will happen i suggest that you call the manufacturer since this is already a hardware failure.

Make sure the fuel pump buzzes when turning key to on, but not trying to start vehicle. If it does your fuel pump should be ok. Now check for spark at a plug wire.

Try having someone check to see if the fuel pump has stopped working. I suddenly developed the same problem as yours three days ago, and that's what heppened to mine. They go without warning or prior symptoms, it seems.

I have no power running to my coffee maker at all, I've check the plug, the power, and the breaker box. Everything is working the way it's suppose to except my maker. This happened to me 2 wks ago...


check the highlimit thermostat and i think this machine has an inline thermister where it connects to the element. if ne of the connectionjs is loose or you have a defective part it can heat intermittently

O.K. I had just had that little problem out of nowhere 2 days ago! First off Reboot the Modem, then the Router. When they are done turn on the PS3. In the PS3 Menu go to the 2nd Row from the Left and Down to Network Settings. Choose your setup Wired or Wireless. Choose DHCP and AUTO all the way through. If you are Wireless you will need your CODE! When done wait a minute then run the Network test right below in the Menu. You should be Good! This should reset your Network Automatically!

Dell latitude c640. comes up with error immediately after ram check displays... "primary hard disk drive 0 not found no boot device available - no bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2...


Seems to be a problem while detecting the hard disk. Please contact customer service if the laptop is in warranty.
