It could possibly be you are not getting 240 volts to the range. The top igniter may be getting a current back through the other side of the 240 circuit and that is why it works when the oven is turned on but the oven will not be getting power to heat. Have the 240 circuit checked or make sure the circuit breakers are reset correctly.

If you are sure there is 220v going to unit, it most likely is element or click / control. If you have a ohms meter, you can test the element

Oven will not heat when turned on

Hi. Check to make sure the electrical breaker is not tripped. Find the breaker box and inside you will find several black switched called "breakers" and you possibly may have one that is in the center position, indicating it has been "tripped". To resolve this, flip the switch to the "OFF" position then back to on. See if your oven heats now. If not heating, unplag the stove, wait 5 minutesm then plug it back in and see if it heats. If still no heat, most likely the power came back on with a slight "surge" and may have damaged the control board for the oven. If that is the case, you will need to have the oven serviced. Thanks and hope this helps!

Oven powers up but doesn't heat

When you turn the control to 350 or so the bottom heating element should heat up, if it don't, turn the control to broil if the top element heats up it is most likely the bottom element has burnt out and need replacing. You can find the elements at Home Depot or Lowes, if not in stock at the store, you can order it inside the store.

It won't heat up... even though there is a flame

Check The Power Source

If the gas oven won't turn on, the first thing to do is check the power source. Most modern gas ovens are electrically powered. Check to make sure the oven is plugged in and the breaker isn't tripped.

Check the Heat Source

When a gas oven won't heat, the pilot light can also be set too low; if the pilot is lit but the oven isn't catching, adjust the flame.

Newer gas ovens use electric ignitors that produce sparks. If the oven doesn't heat, the ignitor could be broken.

Oven does not heat up.

You will probably find that it is the oven element that has failed.
This is to be found at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
Hope this helps.
