Remove all accessories that are plugged in. LAN, USB and make sure the DVD drive is empty. Try again.

If you can run in Safe Mode there is possibly a conflict somewhere as Safe Mode doesn't load some drivers.
Have you added anything just before you got this problem? If you did whilst in safe mode remove or uninstall the programme and that may fix your dilema.
You can ask Windows to start on a Known Good Boot and that will take you back far enough to start properly without the problem, hopefully!
    Hope that helps.

I reformat the pc.. after a day, it goes back again to its problem, the toshiba logo starts, I can access the boot menu, but after the logo on start up, the screen goes black, all I can see is the small line in the upper left corner that keeps onblinking...
I cant go on safe mode, Nothing Happens on hitting F8 during boot...

If you browse and download a fresh BIOS file on another pc if you can't download on this one save it on USB or floppy and install it.
MAKE SURE IT IS SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR NB205 otherwise it will never work again. While you are on the site give Toshiba a quick call, the number is on the web page, they are very heplful.
I think you have a corrupted BIOS system and it can't move on from POST.

As far as I can see there is a fresh updated BIOS . I am in UK but I looked for the US equivalent.
29/06/10 BIOS update Toshiba OS independent 2.10-WIN World Wide

If you can, download from your NB205 , it is so much easier!
    Hope that helps.

I replaced a cracked lcd screen on my wife's toshiba netbook NB205-N313/P. First let me describe what happened. The netbook fell and the screen cracked and I connected to an external monitor and had to...

Check the ribbon-cable between the motherboard and the LCD screen. It is not transmitting 100% of the video-information.
Be sure that it is not "crinkled", and that it is tightly connected at each end.

Black screen with blinking cursor upon start up

You don't say what Windows are you using.
Anyways, it seems like you have a corrupted BOOT problem.
On Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can insert your Windows installation CD, and choose the "Repair my pc" option.
Windows will do it automatically fro you, and you'll be up and running in a couple of minutes.

Black screen and in the upper left corner there is a cursor theat is blinking ... and teat is all

It sounds like a problem loading the operating system. Try booting from an installation CD to see if anything comes up... if it loads from the CD, there could be a problem with your hard drive.
When it turns on, try entering the BIOS by pressing the correct key (usually DEL, F10, F12, or F2) Make sure that the boot device is set to your hard drive. If you do this and it loads with an error saying 'insert boot media' or 'boot device failed' you'll have to either try fixing your boot sector (which can get tricky, but I'll walk you through it if you really want to attempt it) or a much easier fix, reinstall the operating system.

Black screen w/blinking cursor

So.. you can select safe mode? Or you turn it on and it is resuming into the blank screen?

If the latter. Unplug the power, pull the battery out for 20 seconds or so. Then put it all back together and try booting up.

Toshiba a75 s-206 problems helppppppppppppppp

Sounds like a bad hard drive to me. Take out the hard drive completely from the laptop and boot up with the windows xp cd and it should go past the blinking cursor. At that point you know you'll need another hard drive.

Recovery disks aren't Windows XP

Have you tried booting the laptop with the recovery disk already in the CD drive. If the disk doesnt register and start to spin press F12. Should give you option to boot from CD
