Picture Too Large for Screen

The picture appears to be too big for the screen. TV station logos, names, etc. are chopped off.

Had the convergence feature repaired and since then have had this problem. I could not find a fix in the manual and was unable to find the problem while looking through the setup menu.

Please advise. Thank you

I will try to help but need to ask some questions if don't mind:

    1. Too large a picture, is the picture still bowed/ curved?

    2. Is pic just too big for screen?

    3. Is top and bottom (vertical-horizontal) too big?

    Let me know, big IRISH.

Picture on Olevia lcd is too large for screen.

If you are on a cable or dish box, check aspect setting from you box, TV needs to be 16-9 or full, set TV first then change setting on box.

Wavy lines appear across the screen

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

The picture is distorted. It appears as the picture is being drawn to the center of the screen.

This is a convergence problem. This can be either bad solder connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. If that fails, replace the ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heatsink. These should be marked STKxxx.

Keep me posted.

Sound but No Picture

Perhaps your remote is set to video recorder?  Try that first, and if no response, try calling up a menu on your TV and look for the Picture Settings.
Good Luck.
