Question about AT&T Blackberry Curve 8300 Smartphone

1 Answer

Blackberry Curve UMA (unlicensed mobile access)

I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 which allows me to make VOIP calls over ANY router with a WIFI connection. Starbucks, hotels, etc. I have a T-Mobile plan which allows this. Until yesterday, I was able to make these calls at work where they have a Belkin 802.11g router. At 10:30 yesterday morning, I was unable to make any calls via VOIP. I can go to any other router and it will work. I can access the internet via the Belkin, just can't make VOIP calls. I have powered down router several times but have not done a "hard" reset yet. Any clues??

I have the same issue, except with a Linksys router... went to a TMobile hotspot, same issue, went to a sports bar worked fine, back home did not work. next day went to another hotspot, worked. Came home started working...left home came back stopped working, today started working and stopped again...

My blackberry curve 8320 causes my router to become unresponsive. A few hours after connecting to it all other devices lose connectivity and can not regain it.

If you haven't tried a soft reset, try it. Alt+Right shift+delete.

SOURCE: can't connect Blackberry Curve 8320 to 2wire wifi

W002 - Wi-Fi Connection Failed

Means The phone cannot get an IP Address from the Server.

Common issues are

The signal is to weak to make a reliable connection

WEP is configured incorrectly or WPA

DHCP may be disabled, it needs to be enabled on the router

There are other more technical issues to this but without more information this should be a good start.

BlackBerry Curve 8320 will not connect with HS-100W

If it's any consolation. My BB 8820 connects to my Zyxel NBG-460N, but after a few minutes the connection just dies (the BB still shows its connected to the WiFi, tries to use it and can in fact send packets out, but it does not receive anything any more). The router has gone through 3 firmware upgrades so far and no solution. It's also causing trouble with some USB WiFi sticks when the SSID hiding is enabled.

In short: I believe ZyXEL's WLAN support is simply broken, and you'll have to buy a WLAN AP from another manufacturer.

Permanently remove aim and yahoo off of my blackberry curve 8330

Before I got my BlackBerry Bold I was a BlackBerry Curve user. I had a T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8320. The 8320 has Wi-Fi and supports Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA). The other Curve models were 8300, and 8310. The 8310 has GPS but no Wi-Fi. The 8300 has neither GPS nor Wi-Fi. I chose the 8320 so I could make use of the free calling on UMA.
The original Curve is a great BlackBerry. It fits in your hand well, it is light, the keyboard is great, and the screen is beautiful. When you made the choice on which Curve to buy however, you had to decide whether you wanted Wi-Fi or GPS. Wi-Fi allows for UMA (translation free calling) and super fast Wi-Fi browsing if you associate with a HotSpot. GPS allows for location based services (LBS). Sometimes it became a tough choice because after all, wouldn't we all rather have it all?
Well when RIM sent me the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 to review I was excited. This new Curve doesn't make you have to choose. On top of that, it is a jump forward in technology and features that are very welcomed indeed.

Tmobile voip

the thing with voip is it eats up bandwith, especially if alot of users are using voip at the same time, that tends to slow their server they result in blocking the ports for that.
