Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

When turned on the 'Hello' appears on the display panel on the lg rh397d (DVD) and begins to scroll but does not continue to boot up. I had the problem fixed a few months ago under w'tee (the unit cam back with my recordings etc on HDD in tact - and I am now hoping there is an easy fix that I can do at home to get the unit running again.

Can't play USB MP4 on LG RH397D

The LG RH397D only supports MP3/WMA/JPEG/DivX image and audio files from a USB drive. There is no firmware update that changes the supported file types. You will need to convert the MP4 to a supported format. The manual for the RH397D is available from LG: http://www.lg.com/au/support-product/lg-RH397D# /

I wish that I had better news for you.

My LG RH397D HDD wont recognise dvds any more

The only thing you can do is try a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if that fails the laser pickup assembly will need to be replaced, but this would be to expensive and far cheaper to replace the player.

What do I do to make my LG RH397D regeion free?

Hi there,

Try the following method.

Using the factory supplied remote:

1. Press 'home' button
2. Scroll to 'setup options'
3. Scroll to 'lock' (don't scroll sideways)
4. Press the following button sequence: 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 (message appears)
5. Press 'enter'

When attempting to play other region discs, it may take a few seconds for the firmware to recognize the disc.

Hope this helps...

Our LG RH397d/rh399d DVD / Hard drive recoreder will only turn on and display the Hallo message, and you can hear a clicking sound from in side. I have remove the power cord no change .

Your DVD drive is having a problem. When this recorder starts, it checks the DVD drive for correctness. If incase your DVD drive is has problem in the ejecting mechanism then this will prevent your HDD from working correctly. Take the player to service center and fix the drive

I need to unlock the regional code on my DVD player

The code I found from a trusted website says:
  1. Press SETUP
  2. Scroll down to the padlock icon
  3. Press 0 seven times
    • Confirmation message appears
  4. Press ENTER
Which sounds like what you're doing already. This is for RH399D. RH397D may be different.
