Question about Datacard Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

ZTE AC2736 not working properly on XP SP3 home edition. Provided drivers seems to be bad. I got the drivers from elsewhere and installed it, it worked then. But when I switched off my laptop and then restarted datacard stopped working. I removed the datacard software and reinstalled it but it does not work. Datacard is being detected but to install drivers when i search for hardware changes in device manager it hangs. Also in device manager it does not show under modem.

SOURCE: Hard drive failure required rebuild of XP Home on

I found that some Windows Plug and Play services were note running and were set to start 'manually'. I started those services which seemed related to Plug and Play, and the installation went without further errors.

uninstall the video driver from Control panel > Add/Remove Programs. Update the XP up to SP3, reboot twice and only then install the latest available video driver if necessary (on older pc's the driver is already in XP and it will be automatically installed.

You have to check your motherboard or video card model, then search for the driver from their official website for windows xp home edition compatible. You can update sp3 before or after installing the driver of your video card! That is the reason why you ca not change the settings on your resolution because the windows xp home edition sp2 are probably no available driver for your video card. Have a nice day!

I can't install the service pack 3 of SQL server

Are you installing SP3 for SQL 2005 Standard or Express editions?

According to Microsoft, the standard edition will not work on XP Home.

Can i install sp3 without windows xp genuine product key?

you can, but not through windows update. you can still get critical updates. If you can find the service packs elsewhere, you can then install them. I carry on a usb key service pack 1a 2 and 3, because a lot of my customers are still on dial up.

here is sp3 for windows xp:

Dell Resource CD - not working in Windows XP SP3 version

You are using the Dell Resource CD provided by the manufacturer. This CD may not work with new versions of Internet Explorer that come with SP3 installations (if you reinstalled from a Windows XP CD not provided by Dell or if you did the Microsoft SP3 update).
You're only solution would be to use your "Service Tag" number underneath, for laptops (or on the back/side for Desktops), of your computer and go to http://support.dell.com to download the drivers for your specific system. If this computer doesn't have the drivers for you to be able to go to the internet, use a second computer and go to the site. Then download the individual drivers listed (the latest dated drivers will work best).
Once you've downloaded mainly the Video, Network, Audio drivers, use a USB Flash drive (sometimes called USB Key, USB pen drive, USB drive, etc) and copy what's been downloaded onto it. Do not double click on the files while they're on the second computer.
Once on the machine with Windows XP SP3, double click on each downloaded file (1 at a time) and follow the on-screen insctructions to install the driver. You should be fine afterwards. :) Let us know how it goes, and rate us. :)

My xp home sp3 wants a least 2 restarts before it

"Wants a reboot?" That's strange.

If you have the McAffee software available for re-installation - I would remove McAffee (UNPLUG YOUR NETWORK CABLE, as you'll be naked to the world) and see if it boots OK without McAffee.

If it is happy to boot without McAffee, then try re-installing McAffee and see how it acts.

You can always use something other than McAffee if it ends up being the culprit of your problems.

Also, check for malware. Download MalWare Bytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org) and make sure to update the definitions and run it across your computer. The Quick Mode is effective, and the Thorough Mode takes hours .... :)

Just make sure to be careful when you have no AntiVirus installed to not go playing on the internet .... download MalWare Bytes (install & update) before you remove McAffee and unplug from the world.
