Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

I have a LSR7010PQ1 whirlpool washer and when I turn it on it just keeps trying to fill up. It seems as if it gets stuck there. Don't know what to do.

My washer is filling with water non-stop, even when its not on. I have to turn the water off to the machine to keep it from filling with water. Is there a valve stuck open? Or is it circuit board going...

The water LEVEL SENSOR has failed and so there is no detection of the level selected on the washer. Hence the inlet valve is not cut off even after the water level has reached,
You need to check this unit and replace.
Secondly as mentioned even after the power is put off if the water comes into the washer then it is possible that the INLET valve has failed or is stuck OPEN .
Remove clean and reset or replace.

If we don't turn off the main water supply valve after every use the machine fills up with water

The solenoid is most likely stuck open. You may be able to get a new one from whoever sold you the washer or if you call an experienced technician in to fix it he would know where to get one.

if it has been quite some time since you turned the knob it is possible that it is starting to sieze up, you may have to replace the switch behind the knob

Sounds like the pressure switch is stuck or the fill valve is stuck. If the pressure switch is not satisfied of the water level, it won't agitate, this is most likely cause. If it DOES agitate, then the fill valve is stuck. A kink in the pressure switch line or a pinhole can also cause this problem. The pressure switch is located in the console, it's white with a little clear hose going to it. It connects to the tub close to the bottom.

Washer will not turn on

You have some scale or something keeping the water fill valve open most likely. If it still tries to fill unplug the machine if it still tries to fill do the following. Remove the fill valve and disassemble it. If you see the dirt or rust flush it out when it looks clean reassemble it and before you attach the hoses put them in the washer and turn them on to flush out the lines then reattach hoses and try it.

If this helps you please rate me with as high a retign as possible. If not please restate your problem and help me understand better what trouble your having. Thnks for using fixya and good luck.

Washer Drum Off Center

To my knowledge most washers have transfer bolts or retainers that keeps the position of the drum firm while in storage or in transit. there would be 3 or four of them. Please verify that all the transfer bolts were removed.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
