Question about Brother MFC-9440CN Laser Printer

1 Answer

Very often my printer will print out characters for several pages instead of what I intended for it to print. I have tried unplugging the unit for several minutes and it works sometimes, but this is a frequent issue. Brother MFC 9940

That means you do not have the right drivers installed for your printer or the drivers have become corrupt. Usually I found this problem happens on the MACs. Locate the drivers on the link below and make sure you installed the appropriate one for your OS.

Have just installed Windows 7 Ultimate and downloaded/installed the driver for Panasonic DP-C322. After successfully installing, I printed a test page that consisted of 100's of pages, some blank and...

The "test" output should have been one page.

If the printer properly interpreted the data-stream that it received, it _would_ have generated just that one page. However, if the printer is not "interpreting" the data-stream, but instead is printing it, character-for-character, then you could have gotten the mountain of output that you got.

Turn the printer off. Turn the printer on. Try again to print your own, small, "test" page.

Hi there

This I think is the driver, best to remove the printer driver off the PC close down, and restart again then reinstall the printer driver back to your pc.

Ricoh CL3500N - not printing all characters on the page

It might be a print driver problem. I think there several different drivers. Go to Ricoh-usa.com and download all the drivers for the operating system you are using and try them. If there is a rpcs driver that might be your best bet.

Web pages print ramdom characters

Try a different version I had it happen to me, so if it did it using 9.0 adobe acrobat reader I would go to 5.0 or 6.0 version instead and then it would solve my problem everytime it's a hassle but don't know any other way around so that's my best advice.

Printing weird characters

Sounds like a driver issue. The computer expects the printer to interpret #! as part of the "next page" string. The printer doesn't interpret it that way, and prints it instead. You'll either need to change your printer's emulation mode (if it has that feature, some older dot matrix printers do), or get a new printer driver. I'm guessing the latter. You're probably using a driver that's for a slightly different model.
