Question about Avaya 9630G

I have avaya model# 9630G, it keeps going straight to voicemail after the first ring.

Do a status station <ext> and check if send all calls is enabled on the first page. If enabled then disable using the button on the phone or use a feature access code to disable it

Turn off voicemail 6408D+


Turning off voicemail is usually done by the voicemail administrator, they can reset passwords and add or delete a mailbox on an extension. The number of rings before going to voicemail is usually system wide, and that program is changed by whoever programs your phone system.

Would like to reduce the number of rings before going to voicemail on our AVAYA phone.


You will need to go into Manager, and adjust teh voicemail timer. By default it is at 15 seconds. Figure 3.5 seconds/ring when figuring out how long you want it to ring before going to vmail.

Yes you can have the 2 lines answered by a particular mailbox instead of the AA greeting.
Would need to know the model of the voicemail system that is installed to see if there are more than 1 AA menus.
