Question about Televison & Video
After the green light goes off, does it turn red and blink? Or does the LED at the front just go off?

The blinking indicates that an excessive current is detected one of the output rails from the power source. When this happens the power source is put in protected mode first . If this doesn't work (since it starts blinking a second time) it's shut down for good. You must open the tv and test the power source: since it's a big current draw it means that a big consumer has failed so start checking with the high tensions - the ones that power the horizontal deflection module and the video finals. You must determine the location of the failure: in the power source (the rectifier diodes and the filtering capacitors - the most likely cause of problems in a tv this old) or in the other boards - the power transistor for the horizontal deflection is the first one you should look at.
