Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Does this mouse need a pad?

Almost all optical mice need some sort of padding. When you use an uneven surface or something with multiple colors, the optical sensors mistrack and you will note your mouse (curser) will bounce around the screen. An evenly colored mat works well.

How do you program your wireless mouse so the side buttons work correctly

In order for you to program the Logitech wireless mouse, you need to install the software (CD) that came with it.

You need to launch the software after installing it, and there will be an option for you to program the side buttons as how you would like it to work. Example, you selected the upper side button to launch your Internet Explorer. All the instructions will be available in the software itself.

You may also refer to the user manual of the mouse.

Thank you and good luck!

All the buttons are programable and easily accessed through the mouse icon in the startup menue. Click Statup, Click the mouse program icon, a window appears with each of the mouse buttons listed with drop down menues. Click the drop down menue of the button of interest, select one of about 20 choices (in my case "disabled"), click Apply, click Save.
