Go to your camera's manufacturer's website and down load the driver for it that fits the operating system that you are using and this should correct your problem. Good Luck

Integrated WebCam Driver

You can download the WEBcam and device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

My webcam night mode is turn off how can i turn it back on

Face Recognition Usually you'll find the webcam at the top and middle of the laptop screen. One unique feature included with the webcam on newer Toshiba laptops including the Satellite Pro, Portege and Qosmio models is facial recognition. Instead of having to type in a password when you open the laptop, you can set up the computer to recognize your face and automatically load your settings. b> Setup b> To access the face recognition feature on a Toshiba laptop, open the laptop to the registration screen and click the Face Recognition icon. Look at the circle that appears on the screen and align your face so that it fits within the circle, and then click "Next." At the next page, enter your name and password and click "OK." The next time you use the computer, click on your Face Recognition icon from the main screen and look at the webcam so it can recognize your face and load your settings. b> Night Mode b> If you're in a low-light situation you can take advantage of the webcam's Night Mode effect. To turn it on, open the Camera Assistant by clicking the Start button, and then select "All Programs."

Select the "Camera Assistant" folder and then select the "Camera Assistant" software. Once it's open, hover your mouse over the far left hand side of your laptop screen. This will cause a number of webcam icons to appear. Click the "Properties" icon, which looks like a box with a pen over the top left of the box. Click the "Night Mode" check box from the Properties window and then click "OK." b> Other Profiles b> You can also alter other effects and features of the webcam from the Camera Assistant. First open the Camera Assistant by clicking the Start button, and then select "All Programs." Select the "Camera Assistant" folder and then select the "Camera Assistant" software. Then hover your cursor on the far left of the screen until you see the webcam menu appear, and select the "Properties" icon. Then click on an individual "Profile" tab to adjust the white balance, lower or raise the brightness, or correct the colors. As you click on the adjustment, you should see the change reflected in the way the webcam is displaying on your laptop. When you've selected the settings you want, click "OK" from the Profile window.

I can not get the web cam to work

Instructions1 Take pictures independent of communications software on the Windows version of the netbook by using the webcam without connecting to networking software. Click the "Windows Start" menu and click "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam" in the Programs list. The webcam application should open and the camera should produce an initial warmup image. Use the buttons on the control panel to adjust image size or take photos.
2 Use the Instant Messenger program on the Acer Linux-based laptop or netbook to work the webcam. The Acer Instant Messenger program is available in the Connect folder on the Acer laptop's desktop screen.
3 To send and receive live video and pictures using your webcam on an Acer laptop, work the webcam through individual communications software, including Skype, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, or Google Video Chat. Open your selected communications software program and click the webcam button to work your webcam.
Thanks

I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. When it was in xp, my webcam was present in windows explorer. Now it is nowhere to be found. I found out that I can still use it through websites and chats with...

First go to device manager and see what webcam is in your laptop. Then go to the site for your brand of laptop, ie toshiba--- the support section and see if they have a download for that webcam for windows 7. Sometimes there is also software for the cam you can download too. Best place to look is on the manufacturer's support section for proper drivers and software. That might place a shortcut on your desktop again.

I'm trying to disable the internal webcam on my new Pavilion dv7, so I can use my Logitech stand alone webcam

You can try to go to the device manager to disable it. So if you know the name of your Built-in webcam it's not gonna be hard for you to look for that device.

If you are using Windows XP
1. Click start button
2. Click run
3. Type devmgmt.msc then press enter
4. Now look for your webcam, (I guess it's under Imaging)
5. Right click your webcam device and click on disable (it may ask you to restart the computer)

Windows Vista
1. Click start button
2. Click start search box
3. Type devmgmt.msc then press enter
4. Now look for your webcam, (I guess it's under Imaging)
5. Right click your webcam device and click on disable (it may ask you to restart the computer)

In Windows 7

Toshiba laptop freezes using webcam

Hi,

Do you think its due to external webcam ?

You mean that if you dont use webcame it works fine.

If this is the case you just uninstall the webcame drivers from Add/Remove Programmes under Control Panel.

Try to get the latest drivers from webcame manufacture website which suits your windows(OS) and install it again.

Acer Crystal Eye Webcam

The first thing to check is if your webcam is working correctly. If you're running Windows XP, click on the "start" button, then click on "My Computer". Now double click on "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam". It should now show a screen with video from the webcam (probably of your face in front of the computer).
