Hi pepeq5314, has it ever run with the new carbuerator? For now lets assume its fine. Time to check for spark. Remove the spark plug, once it is out reconnect plug wire, ground the plug to engine block by holding the base of the plug to block. Now crank it over and see if it is sparking. If no spark you have ignition problem. If it does have spark, back to the carbuerator. You can put a little fuel directy into cylnder through the spark plug hole and crank it and see if it pops. If it does, you have a fuel problem. Remove the line into carbuerator and make sure you have fuel flowing to it. If you do have fuel flow check adjustments. Hope these tips help.

how can i start or try to start the 21hp briggs with out using the tractors ignitions switch i want to make sure that the problem is not a safety switch at the mower or the ignition switch it self

Hi pepeg5314, I usually disconnect the kill wire at the ignition module located under the engine shroud, this involves removing the shroud, you will see a single push on connection, that is the one. At that point all the switch can do is crank it, if still no spark the ignition module is bad. Good luck.

i replaced the engine that was cranking but will not start with another engine and after driving the cub cadet for 10 to 15 minutes i have the same problem with the new engine i think i have a transmission problem or brake problem that is causing the engine problem . i will check if the engines flywheel key is broken, i need ideas thanks

My cub cadet CC30 do not start, it is new, the battery is fully charged, when i try to start do not make a sound ,looks like the power does not go to the start

Battery connection good, starter connection, ignition switch ok?
Also check the safety switch on the bar that you hold while running unit. If that switch is not working, neither will the mower.

Go direct from the battery to the starter motor - if it runs then the in between circuitry is bogus.

I have a Cub Cadet LT 10:45 I will try and you try to start it it won't turn like it's stuck or something what could be the problem

take the cover off of the starter and see if it is stuck to the flywheel. if it is not it may be a valve issue. (out of adjustment) assuming that the battery is fully charged.

My cub cadet 221 cranks won't start

Clean your carb, if you have not stored it correctly you have a dirty carb now. Carb could be gummed up.

I have a lt 1018, It has good compression, gas to the carb, spark at at plug. It will crank but will not run, spit and spat then stops. It all started when I his a bump and the safty switch at seat...

Sounds like the safety switch under the seat is damaged. You can replace it or disable the switch altogether. But if disabling the switch, always be aware that the safety was there for a reason. You could temporarily bypass/disable the switch until you can get the proper repair part.

I have a series model 1018 cub cadet with electric mower deck. After mowing for about 45 minutes, I turned off the tractor for a few minutes. When I tried to restart, the battery was dead. I jumped started...

If you have access to an electric voltmeter, with it running check voltage at the battery. The engine should charge the battery and maintain system voltage so that the electic PTO will function. The electic PTO will not pull in if system voltage is too low.

I have a cub cadet lt 1018 and it runs fine in idle and drives ok but when the pto is engaged the exhyaust smokes and oil comes out the fuel pump.i have replacer the fuel pump and checked the crank case...

I am assuming that it is black smoke, my guess is that the carburetor, needs to be adjusted, might want to check the air filter and make sure that there is not to much oil in the crankcase. i think once the carburetor is adjusted the black smoke should disappear. Hope this helps Tim

Locked down motor

Unfortunately it sounds like you threw a connecting rod in other words a blown motor. The connecting rod has become disconnected from the crankshft and is jammed up between the case and the crank itself, the engine must be dissasembled and rebiult.
