First, yes, you can upgrade to a dual core pentium 2.93 GHZ..model E6500
as for video, yes, you can use a 2.0 pci-e video card as long as it is a 1x or a 16x standard. Those are the only standards supported by your computer, so if it is a pci-e 4x then it won't work, at least not for long...incompatible bus architecture.
I hope this helps !

I want to install a nvidia graphics card

That motherboard supports a PCIe x16 interface, so I would start there. It is older technology, so upgrades are limited. Below is a link to Newegg for video cards, and a video on how to install one.

Ok, i have two things to ask 1: Where is the video card on a emachines W3503? 2: Could a video card swap be done between a W3503 and a W3052? Thank you for viewing :)

1. The emachines W3503 has an integrated ATI Radeon™ X300 based graphics card. It has also a PCI Express (PCIe x16) slot available.

2. The emachines W3052 has a NVIDIA® GeForce®4™ MX graphics card. I'm not sure whether it is integrated or not, but I'm sure that if it is not, it will be an AGP graphics card. Since The emachines W3503 has a PCI Express (PCIe x16) slot available for installing a graphics card, the swapping of graphics cards between the 2 machines is not possible since they support different types of graphics cards.

I need help choosing a video card - part 2

PCI is the older, slower format, PCIe is newer and faster, but your system MUST support PCIe or it won't work.
So easy option is to find if your system supports PCIe and then get whichever is suitable.

Can a Gigabyte K8N Pro SLI mobo support a PCIe 2.0 video card?

Hi Rachacha!

I have lait a few moths.
Off course, you can use the pcie 2.0 card on pcie 1.0-1.1 mobo, but the card effiency is only 90%, because the mobo have not enough power for the card.

Best regards
Kommy

Yes it does seem like the Mother Board might not take the video card, but it will. The memory slots are going to be very close to the video card, but if you look at the two products (mobo and video card) you'll see that the video cards PCIe insert fin is on one side of the mammoth card, and there is plenty of room below the PCIe slot on the board to accompany this video card. What you might want to do is just make sure you have the proper PSU wattage to handle that killer card.

Can I upgrade my graphics card?

You could tell us you model number or look it up yourself on the e-machine website(Link provided below).  I do know that the PCIe x1 slot is only about an inch long. Maybe that is why you didn't see it?

GeForce2 MX400

The geforce2 mx400 is an agp video card. If you want to stick to the same agp slot you don't have many options these days and the prices are very similar to PCIE slots except the PCIE is a newer technology that would provide a lot better performance.

If you can afford it you should upgrade your motherboard to one that support PCIE and then get a good PCIE video card. The best price/performance these days are the 8600GT cards so look into that. The money you save buying a new video card may even contribute significantly to a new motherboard plus you get other benefits with a newer mobo ie. faster ram, SATA technology more usb ports and support for more CPUs.

Just becareful on what CPU you are using at the moment and make sure the new motherboard supports your cpu.

alternatively look for a used agp slot graphics card ie. the ati 9800pro or nvidia 6xxx series is a good choice of a slight upgrade from where you are.

good luck

smeags.
