Question about PC Desktops

I had the free AVG, but purchased and was billed on my BOA June statement $79.99 for a two-year contract to get more coverage. Since the free AVG was still in effect, I put it on hold until it ran out. ...... I have been trying without results to activate the account. What is wrong? The transaction date on my bill is 5/13/08. Actually, it took me three times to even get started with the AVG 8.0. As you can tell, i am not very good at this. I need your help! My home phone number is 727-321-6850. Also, when trying to use my License # 8I-ANYXN-C9DWV-TLA8R-EQW3P-48DCZ, the message is that this is a trial number. What gives? > > Thank you, Lillian Larsen

Please cancel all requests for AVG: 8I-ANYXN-C9DWV-TLA8R-EQW3P-48DCZ

and refund $79.99 posted on 5/15/08. Your free service was great, but I think

waiting since May is too long to continue trying to get this service started.

    Thank you,

    Lillian Larsen

How to keep your computer virus free

Many people that I have helped with computer viruses had recently purchased new computers which have virus protection included in the software bundle. The problem with these virus protection programs is that the updates are only good for the first year. After that, you must pay a fee to continue to get virus updates.

Many consumers don't realize this and after the year is up, do not renew the membership with the anti-virus company, leaving their computer unprotected from incoming viruses.

So, if you purchased a computer over a year ago, be aware of this problem. You will need to pay the yearly fee to maintain your anti-virus updates or get another anti-virus software available on the market.

There are some anti virus programs that are free or low cost. I have found AVG to provide a good quality free anti-virus program for home users. You can access the download at http://free.avg.com/us-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free.

Also, remember to be aware of emails from senders that you are not familiar with. Also be very careful about opening attachments on any emails. Be sure you know who sent them to you. Even then, if your not sure, verify with the sender that they actually sent this attachment to you before opening it. Email attachments are one of the most common ways of spreading viruses.

So, be careful and happy surfing!

Message says my subscription has expired? I purchased Internet Security from Nortons on 12/7/07 why has it expired? It appars I am no longer protected and do not understand why this is.

Most of the Norton antivirus comes with one year subscription. date u mentioned here seems like more then 1 year old. That's why it says expired
If you dont want to spend any more money on antivirus then uninstall this one and download AVG from this site. this is really good antivirus for free and good for ever.

I purchased an AVG Internet Security Package for one year in June of this year. I have today received a message on screen telling me that my AVG Security has expired !!!!! Can you advise me please.

just download the free version 8.0, ive installed it on loads of machines ive sorted out and its good enough, i used to have the 1 year subscription but i use the free version now aswell. just remove the version you have now from the add/remove in your control panel then you have a fresh install.

We are a Church and do not have a credit card to enable me to renew Anti Virus Protection online. Is it possible to be billed and pay by cheque?

Do not renew your subscription. I am guessing it is Norton(Symantec) or McAfee, unfortunately both of these once reputable anitivirus applications have become loaded with a lot of intrusive software that eats up system resources and slows your computer down.
Use a free antivirus application like AVG, Avast or NOD32. These free applications are just as good if not better to be honest, than either Norton or McAfee.
Here is a link to download the free version of AVG 8.0.

I am the securities moderator on another forum and AVG is by far the most popular antivirus package.

I tryed to upgrade the new 8.0 AVG virus but it said I have a error and to contact technicalsupport@avg.com to find why it want work as it expires 25th June the old 7.5 version I have uninstall the 7.5 as...

iI this is the paid for version just uninstall it and reload it .If it is the free version go to download.com and download the new 8.0 as a save file .Then off line uninstall the old version and install the new one . Only one can be active at a time. Some times it will uninstall the old one for you when asked.
