Question about Epson R1900 Printer

1 Answer

CD slid off the CD tray for printing and can't retrieve the CD from inside the printer. Should I remove something from the rear of the printer to retrieve the CD? Just bought the printer on October 21, 2010. SN# KBQE048699. I think I can see the silver CD by looking down through where the paper feeds. HELP!

You might disconnect the cord and remove the paper and anything loose.. and try to lift the printer up and shake it out (since you can't really reach it). The print cartridges should be locked in place so they shouldn't fall out. The paper tray may rattle around but it should also be secure, even if it slides a bit.

Try to shake it gently to get the CD out.

Barring that effort, you'll probably be best advised to take it to a technician who knows who to get it open properly, and more importantly how to get it back together. 8^)

Good luck!

My Epson Artisan 810 is blinking (power botton and screen). It is showing an errormsg that says "a printer error has occurred..." I have called Epson, after a long list of troubleshooting items...

I had a similar problem. It turned out that something was jammed in the machine, and the CD tray had slipped out of place. Unplug the machine and check the path of the CD tray. Make sure that there isn't anything in the way. Don't force anything. I also had a problem where it was printing a dvd and it disappeared. It had slid part way into the back. It was jammed in there for several months before it caused an issue. The repair person, just removed the back part of machine by pushing the tabs and removed the stuck dvd.

I'm trying to figure out how to load #10 envelopes to print.

Generally, since you have not mentioned what printer you are using, remove all the paper.

Slid the enveople into the bottom of the paper tray, face side down (flap up) and the flap to the left. Push the envelope to the right side of the tray and as far forward until it stops.. On the left side, you may have a rail that will slid to the right against the envelope.

or The paper tray may have a slot on the right near the back. Slid the envelope into that slot, flap up and to the left, as far as it will go.

Once the envelope is put in place, run the software that you use to print.

Good luck!

Laserjet 4700 Tray 2 stuck will not pull out.

You possiblely have something loose in the tray or something broke. Find something metal and thin, like a hack saw blade, and stick it through the slot between the drawer and printer and see if you can feel the obstruction, and if so try to move it out of the way. Something is catching on the printer frame and drawer.

Epson stylus r1800 problem with printing on cd/dvd

    Try this :

Disconnect the printer from the computer.
Turn it off & make sure the CD/DVD tray is closed then turn it back on.

    Here's generic instruction for you:

If you are receiving an error pertaining to the CD TRAY NOT BEING INSERTED CORRECTLY, please do the following:

-Don't force the CD/DVD tray into the printer.
-Make sure your printer is powered on, and the output tray is in the upper position.
-Please ensure there is at least 3 inches of space behind the printer, or the CD tray may eject.

Included, are the correct CD/DVD loading instructions. Please follow the instructions below:

    1. Ensure the printer is powered on. Remove any paper from the sheet feeder.
    2. Push in the paper support extension on the printer, and close the paper support.
    3. Push in the output tray extensions, but leave the tray open.
    4. Lift the output tray. Place one hand on the top of the printer, and pull up on the output tray until it stops. Lay the tray down in the upper position.
    5. Place the CD or DVD into the CD TRAY with the white (or printable) side facing up. Note: To print on small 8cm CDs, please place the small CD ring on the tray first, then place the CD inside the ring.
    6. Slide the tray into the tray guides located in the output tray. Push in the guide until the arrow on the tray matches up to the arrow on the tray guide.
    7. Press the PAPER button to load the CD/DVD into the printing position. The CD is correctly loaded when the printer's POWER button stops flashing.

General tips for CD and DVD printing:
-Burn data/video/images onto CDs or DVDs before attempting to print on them.
-Do not use thermal-printable or regular CDs or DVDs in the printer.
-Moisture or fingerprints on the printable surface of the CD may cause marks or smearing to appear after printing.
-All printable inkjet media is different. Some surfaces will absorb ink better than others. If output appears banded, faded, or streaky, print a Nozzle Check pattern to confirm that all colors of ink are printing completely. If the ink does not completely dry or smears after 24 hours curing time, you may need to use the Epson Print CD tools to adjust (lower) the print density.
-The only supported resolution for CD/DVD printing is 1440 dpi (aka "Photo")
-Borderless printing and printing on the "inner circle" (plastic around central hole) of CDs is not supported.
-Do not use the "print preview" feature provided by the Epson printer driver as it will only show the image on a blank field and does not offer a clear indicator of where the image will print.
-The Epson Print CD software works best with JPG images and may not import some TIFF images.

Cd tray error Canon Pixma MP810

Sorry a little late only just read your problem.
The location is not the bottom tray feeder but the disk tray. In settings change your media type to "Printable Disk" the paper scource should automatically change to "Disk Tray" and hopefully every thing will work OK.
