Question about LG Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have LG Model lst243h-2 air conditioner that stopped working while turned on. Safety switch has not been tripped, filters are clean, outside unit appears clean, remote is ok. System had been on for a couple hours set at 25 degrees with outside temp in mid 30's.

Outside fan not turning inside fan running

Very impressive!! This button you are referring to is a contactor. When your tstat calls for cooling it sends 24 volts out to the contactor therefore pulling the contactor in completing the circuit for the fan and compressor. Usually this doesn't work when a safety switch is preventing the 24 from getting to the contactor. Either it's not getting a signal from the tstat or one of your safeties are tripping (high or low pressure) or the float switch on your drain line at the air handler is wired in to only stop the condenser from working rather than the tstat. A multimeter would be extremely helpful for you to determine where the voltage is stopping. Check your drain first, I don't suggest your patented rock idea, it's not running because of a safety. Good Luck , let me know!!

Cooling doesn't stay on

The outside and inside coils may need cleaning. Clogged coils cause excess pressures and heat of the freon that can cause safety switches to shut er down. Eveen a faulty power relay in the outside unit.Otherwise you may need a serviceman to locate the cause.

I have a 12 year old RUUD heatpump model UJMAA048JK-549 that repeatedly trips the "High Head Pressure Limit" switch at 30 degree temperatures but works fine when the temperature isn't as cold. Is...

ONLY 3 THINGS WILL CAUSE THIS
1) CLEAN THE OUTSIDE COILS WITH A COIL CLEANER AND A HOSE
2) THE FILTER IS DIRTY
3) THE UNIT IS OVER CHARGED
IS THIS A SPLIT SYSTEM OR A WINDOW UNIT THE MOST LIKELY ARE 1&2

I have an LG Air Conditioner (model LST243H-2). The circuit switch (in the fuse box unit) keeps switching over to off. My apologies that I'm not technical in my explanation!

Please do not activate again.Call repairman. The circuit switch trips due to:

1. Compressor hing amps. 2.Any short circuit.3.Compressor grounded.

By resetting the breaker without rectifying the fault will make major expenditure and also (sometime) major hazards. Hope, you keep my advise.

Hi i have a lg split system air con model number lst243h-2 its nice and cold when i first turn on then its just like the fan is on its not cold at all

How long before it goes from cold to hot. The compressor could be not running and going out on overload. The condeser fan could have failed. Did you check the outdoor unit. Is it running? Is the fan running on the outdoor unit. It could be low on charge which would cause ice. Are you getting excessive condensation? Let me know and i can help you out more. Grab the large copper line outside that is insulated and tell me if it is cold. It should be cold like a Pepsi out of the fridge!
