Question about Acer AL2423W LCD Monitor

2 Answers

Good day, I have an Acer AL2423W monitor. When I turn it on, for the first few minutes all I get are vertical coloured lines. After a few more minutes the screen images start to become visible, but blurred. As well, there is a flicker from top to bottom as if the screen is trying to syncronize. Usually after about 5-10 minutes the screen slowly "clears" from top to bottom and eventually becomes stable (but not always). I have it set to resolution 1920 x 1200, 60 Hertz, color quality highest (32-bit). It is about 3 years old, but only in the last few weeks has there been problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Roger Delanghe

Hi Friend, In this case what I would recommend you is to connect any external monitor to the system to check if you have the same issue with the external monitor as well or not.
If yes, then it might be the issue with the video card so, you can try updating the video drivers for the system.
If no, it means that the original monitor has some issues with itself..
Also what I would recommend is try to lessen the screen resolution instead of 1920 x 1200 to lower resolution and restart the system and check if it makes any difference..
Also update the video drivers for the system.

The capacitors are bad. Very common problem with this monitor. Mine died after 1.5 years and the repaired one by acer lasted about a year. I took mine apart and replaced all the large capacitors on the two main boards several years ago with "made in japan" ones and it has worked flawlessly since.

LCD monitor have Vertical lines and black colour become greenish

normally the 19" resolution can support up to 1280*1024, but if it comes with vertical lines in full screen, it might indicate the panel is no longer to work and probably it's time to replace new one.

"no signal" sign on ACER AL2423w monitor

If you get this issue frequently and it gets resolved, the most likely cause is loose cable connection from the monitor to your system.

This message means that your monitor is not getting any input from your computer. The other possible cause could be a loose video card on your computer.

Every few minutes brings up box 'No Signal'. Sometimes when powering on ACER logo thing takes a few minutes to disappear.

I have a Acer moniter too. Seems like you have a loose VGA cable or not enough power going into the video card

Vertical line white, regular, blinking.

I don't think it's the bulb. Sounds like an LCD panel issue. Maybe one or more of the 3 LCD panels is either not working right or the unit has been dropped/jarred and the panels have moved (All three have to line up right optically to give the right colours). You need to take the projector to a qualified service centre.
I hope that solves your Problem, If so kindly accept it.
Thank You, Arjun.

AL2423W flashes 'No Signal' and turns off and on

Hi Guys,
This is a common problem with this monitor but I have a fix. Sounds simple but try it it works. Turn your monitor off, then turn it off at the wall, turn your monitor back on to drain any stored power, now turn it back on at the wall and fire the pc up and see how you go.
