Question about Memorex Televison & Video

1 Answer

I just hooked up my Memorex MVBD2535 Blu-ray player to my Sanyo DP50740 plasma bia an HDMI cable. The picture flashes on and off, and sometimes the screen says "no signal". I know the Sanyo does not support 1080, so I have the output resolution on the Blu-ray player set to 720p, but that did nothing to solve the problem.

I had this exact same problem after setting this model DVD player up. I put in a disc thinking I would listen to the movie while working on some other projects and would call tech support in the AM.

Putting in the disc fixed the problem. If there is a disc in the system, I do not have this issue. If thee is not, it does the same thing while it is on.

Same issue, had to do with HDMI auto detect, once I set dvd player setting to 1080p instead of HDMI Auto it worked fine....now I have problems with Netflix and having a pixelized picture. Worked fine once now not so much!

Did you get it fixed? I have the same problem with Netflix being pixelated after I watch a DVD. I have to unplug the Memorex unit, plug it back in and then Netflix will play just fine. If I play another DVD, unit goes wonky again until I uplug it.

I just bought a phillips blu ray and trying to hook it up to my sanyo 50" plasma through a hdmi i get video but no sound the tv says to use the dvi port and audio 3 inputs but the blu ray does not hav

Hello there, the hdmi cable is a great way to get high definition video from a bluray player to a tv, but if the bluray player is part of a surround sound system you will need to get the sound to the tv separately. There is often a red and white audio terminal in the rear of the bluray player, sometimes located next to a yellow terminal, these are known as a component connection as each component (coloured terminal) is separate and operates a separate function, but all 3 connections can be used together to create a SCART equivalent. You may need to connect an 'Audio Component to 3.5mm jack' cable from the white and red terminals to the headphone/line in socket on the tv.

alternatively, as wilth my player, there is a button on the remote which switches the audio source from component, hdmi, SCART, etc, this may be the same for you.

hope this helps.

My Sharp Aquos LC-40E67UN is plugged into a Sony Blu Ray home theatre system BDV-IZ1000W. It is hooked up with an HDMI cable. I get sound but no picture on the TV. If I unplug and replug the HDMI cable...

Wow it seems as though you've pretty much done all of the applicable troubleshooting for this issue. The only other thing I can advise in this case is to consider purchasing a SD card. Some Blu Ray players require a little extra memory to function properly so they come with an SD card slot. Of course no one tells you this when you buy the player but it may be the solution to your problem.

HDMI not working Sony BDP-S350

With sony products sometimes you have to use sony parts to get it to work. I would suggest to buy a sony HDMI cable and see what happens if that doesn't work then take the player back to the store because you got a faulty player.

How to connect BLU-RAY DVD player to Pioneer Plasma TV via HDMI

The best possible solution to your problem is :
Connect your blu ray player directly to the HDMI input of you Plasma and watch HD video....
and connect the 5.1/7.1 sound thru the optical or the coaxial link directly to your AVR 3805.
You will not loose anything on the Blu-Ray.
The sound is best processsed by the AVR3805, while the video, which is the real upgrade (BluRay) in terms of resolution of picture would be processed by your plasma.

Connect and Enjoy
