Remove the screw from the bottom. The on/off switch snaps off.
Then gently work a thin bladed screwdriver in the bottom next to
the screw hole. Pry gently - the top (with the charge light and
the name written on it) slides downward about 3/16 of an inch
and lifts off. Unsolder the old battery from the board and solder
the new one in. Then snap it back together and put the screw
back in. The switch takes a little patience, but it'll snap back on.

In addition to the above, the battery leads where they go through the board are folded over before they're soldered. Solder wick or a solder ****** make it easier to remove all the solder before the battery can be removed. It can be done without it, but it's a bear.

How to remove battery from norelco t 800 can not get to come apart after removing 1 screw on grip

Disassembling the Norelco T800 is quite easy -- once you know what to do!

* Remove the single small Philips screw that you can see near the power connector

* Twist (hard) the cutter depth ring past 9 and it will come loose.

* Now remove both the ring and the guide piece that it moves up and down

* Now pry off the cutter head (black piece of plastic)

* Now remove the metal clip that you find under the head -- press down on the two free ends and pry the other end of the clip loose.

* Now release two plastic tabs that we under the rotating ring.

* Now I just pried the two parts apart by inserting a small screwdriver and twisting. I'm not sure if there are any more tabs that can be released at this point.

* Now you can remove the circuit board (which is held in my a couple of plastic tabs).

Now you can replace the *single* NICD 600maH battery (AA size). The longest bit of this step was heating up the soldering iron!

Reassembly is the reverse.

My t860 will not hold a charge, and now I can't get it to work while plugged into the charger, can the battery be replaced?

The battery can be replaced. There is a single AA NiCd battery soldered into the main circuit board.
To open up the trimmer, first take the silver screw out (located near the lower back side). Then pull the trim guard off the top (should come off easily). Next, the rubber-like ring used for adjusting the trim height needs to be pulled off -- this can be difficult but just work your way around and ease it off. Finally, the metal clip on the end of the trimming head needs to be removed, and the plasic case can then be popped open, revealing the circuit board.

If you're not comfortable soldering or disassembling it, it can likely be done at a local Batteries Plus store.

How to open case on Norelco T-3000 beard trimmer

Remove the bottom screw. Next, the on/off slide switch has to be lifted off carefully with a small flat screw driver. Its kept in place with a small spring steel clamp. After you've removed it lift off the steel clamp and remove the slide mechanism by carefully twisting it out of position. Once that's done it will twist open easily.

How do I change the Battery in My Norelco T3000 Beard Trimer

Remove Phillips head screw at bottom of trimmer. Separate body in two being careful to notice how on/off switch is assembled. Unsolder the ni-cad battery from circuit board. Install new ni-cad battery of the same physical size that has solder tabs on it and solder it to the circuit board. I used a ni-hi (nickle metel hydride) instead of ni-cad which had different charging requirements so I limit charge time to no more than 16 hours for a discharged battery. It had been working fine for over a year. Don't forget to apply a few drops of light oil to the cutting blades to extend cutting life. Replacement blades are about $30.00

I just got done doing the same thing

Can the charger charge your NiMH batteries? I was thinking of doing the same thing, but didn't think the NiCd charger would be able to charge the NiMH.
