The hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored. PS3

Hi, should sort your problem:

"The hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored"??

Here's what to do - as instructed by Sony UK (Tel: 0844 736 0595):

If you've tried `restoring` and it continues to reset/repeat to the same message:
Turn the console off by holding/pressing the power button down until you hear three spaced out beeps (before powering down);
Then hold in the power button again until you eventually hear a first and second beep - followed by a quick double beep, then take your finger off the button;
This should bring up a six option menu, such as `System Restore` etc;
Select `System Restore` and follow the instructions;
If in the event it repeats your first problem, i.e. repeating the same message, then repeat the above process to get back to the six options, although this time select `System Reset` or similar;
This will sort your problem although you will probably lose saved game data (if not backed up on a memory stick or something prior to your problem).
If you play Modern Warfare 2 online, then your data will be saved on the Sony Server anyhow and won't be lost.

When carrying out the above actions, the loading bar can be a bit slow at times. This is due to repairing the corrupted data etc on your hard-drive.

This worked 100% for me and I've no doubts will also help you.

Any problems please ensure you contact Sony on the number above.

Good Luck!!

Hard disk file is corrupted,it restored itself but it still wont play any games,the screen is blank .

I would recommend backing up all your info onto a portable hardrive or Memory USB before trying this.

When in Settings go to >System Settings>Restore to default settings.

That will reset everything backto when you first turned on your PS3 , you will lose Sign-In info if you have it set as Automatically so keep that in mind , and you will also lose all your updates. So as soon as its reset you will have to download the newest update.

My PS3's hard disk file system is corrupted

There is an alternate way to restore your HDD. Turn off your system and when u see the red light, hold the power button in front until you hear a total of 4 beeps (1 alone, 1 alone, 2 together). It usually works on second try. it should show a screen and say hook up controller with a usb cord. Then it should show i think 6 options. Choose the restore option. it should work.

Hope it works and wish you all the best!
P.S.- I just got the 80010514 error on my ps3 and my ps3 games dont work anymore :(
