Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Hey guy i need of help here
about a week ago my computer simultaneously stopped working and in this same time frame my Norton 360 anti virus subscription ended. So this is what the problem was and what it became. At first when i turned on the computer it would seem fine but the usual beep when it started up wasn't there, and the CPU would load and nothing would show up on the screen. then i opened up the computer i thought it was a graphics card problem but it was perfectly fine so i put it back and then started up the computer still no image. then about 3 days after the computer miraculously loaded to the XP logo then it just shut down on it's own. then it went back to showing nothing then yesterday i was soo happy it loaded all the way to the log in screen the then it shut down on it's own so i decided to work faster so i turned on the computer and everythign loaded then i logged in then two mins later iit just shut down then i turned it on this time it lasted bout five mins then same thing over and over again . then this morning the 9th it just got stuck in the bios then it shut down then it ran a chkdsk on it's own then shut down then this time i turned it on and it did the same thing no screen but this time the mouse seemd to be working same thing again soo please i need heeelp plus can u tll me how to run a check disk
email if uwant at firstname.lastname@example.org
How do i format it the hard drive

If you can make it to windows then go to start-run and type 'chkdsk' and hit enter. That will run check disk.
But I don't think that running a check disk will solve the problem, I am guessing that could be either a virus; because you tell me that norton went down at the same time your PC went down, in this case I recommend formating the drive; or it could be that your PC's cooler stopped working and the PC is overheating which causes an automatic shutdown to prevent the components from breaking down, in this case I recommend testing your PC's cooler and changing it if necessary.
