Question about Epic View 550 Treadmill

1 Answer

The speed reading on my epic 55o treadmill quit working. I can see what the new setpoint speed is and the treadmill accelerates/decelerates to the new speed but the actual speed always reads 0.0. This used to work but quit working recently.

Under the motor cover, on the left side mounted on the frame is the speed sensor.
It is a little black "bullet" shaped thing clamped to the frame with a wire wrapping around the frame to the electronic board. It may need to be adjusted. Move it as close to the pulley as possible without making contact. If it still doesn't work, inspect the pulley for the 1/2 inch round magnet. It is mounted on the pulley. If it is missing, it may be attached to the metal frame someplace. Place it back into the holder on the pulley and try the treadmill again.
If you still have no speed reading, the sensor will have to be replaced.

Treadmill- Epic T60. Immediately starts of at full speed and causes circuit breaker to trip

Hi There,

This problem could be a faulty speed sensor . Especially with optical speed sensors. The other reason could be a faulty LCB ( MCB)

The digital readings on the console of our Epic 425 MX are not working. Is this something we can fix ourselves. We bought this treadmill from Costco in March 2009.

Most likely the console is faulty. If the speed and incline buttons work and the numerical display is incomplete the console is at fault.
