The current 2008 manual says...

Setting the clock
When first connected, or after a power failure longer than 15 seconds, ‘0.00’ and AUTO will
flash on the display. To set the clock, press the <hand> button and then the <+> and <-> buttons.
Note: Changing the time (by pressing ) will delete any automatic program.

However this had no effect whatsoever on our 2002 vintage model. Frustrated random button pushes suggested:
<timer>+<cook> (two leftmost buttons together) will switch you into time set mode where you can then adjust by the <+> and <-> buttons.

So we must have an early model one ourselves !! Had "our people" looking for an F&P ceramic top stove from one of Christchurch's RED ZONED houses that was awaiting demolition and one just turned up on the back doorstep this morning, sparkie hooked it up . . . didn't know how to set the clock !!! . . .Brill !! . . a quick gargoyle search and Roberts your fathers brother !!

A frustrating problem solved! We now have the instructions in writing for next time!! Thanks heaps.

FantaSTIC! I've had this non-restart problem intermittently for years when power's been cut. The Push Hand button, then + or - has NEVER worked, only the random pushing by an inspired friend - only them - I've had to call on. But not this time, with ingredients that need cooking TODAY. Yes! Turn off for 15 seconds, press two left buttons for a second, then + button will adjust time & re-power the oven! I'm writing this on the front page of the -useless for this purpose - user guide I downloaded long ago. So relieved, we have a daylong power outage locally soon. THANK YOU people!

SOURCE: I have a Fisher and Paykel Saffron oven - stove to...

The temperature switching device has 'died', and needs replacing. This is a continual problem in these stoves (we have replaced each of ours at least once or twice in the 7 years we have had it). I will never buy another F&P oven!
The only solution is to get F&P or another repairman to come out and fix it. It cost us $AU 215 each time.

How do I turn off Auto on oven

Hi Anita,

A quick search of Google for an answer to my question "Turning Auto Off on a Fisher and Paykel Oven"
With little more detail from you like model and if AUTO Off as with Timer I could pin point it, i..e.be more accurate.

So if my guess is correct than it should be on the Analogue/Analog Timer Knob OR if electronic somewhere on the keypad, electronic touchscreen? pad....meaning set it to MANUAL....have you tried that?

Cheers

The clock must be set to the time of day before oven will work. Also set that it is not set to Auto operation.

Try turning the oven circuit breaker off for a minute then back on. Reset the clock and see what happens.
