I had the same problem and it was driving me insane - then while troubleshooting the problem I noticed that the bluetooth support service was disabled. I started the service and set the startup type to automatic - that solved the problem for me - no more freezes!!!

Microsoft wireless notebook optical mouse 3000 Doesnt seem to work?

Okay, a coworker had this problem and it was a fairly easy fix, first, plug the USB reciever into a direct USB port, then pess the connect button on the underside of the mouse, when the red light starts blinking let go and then press it and hold, and at the SAME TIME press and hold the connect button on the receiver until both the receiver light and the mouse light turn on steadily, and voila!

if you have not uninstalled it,then you don't need to reinstall it
is there a light on the mouse?
If no change the batteries or else
there would be a connecter connected to the back of the system, you need to unplugg it & replug it back, after that you would be getting a small baloon tip at the botton right hand corner, now you ahve to press the connect button on the reciever & immediately press the connect button on the bottom of teh mouse.now your mouse should be working

Re: microsoft notebook reciever 1024

The green LED on this reciever is also a button. Press the LED on the reciever with a small blunt object (pencil will work) and then press the "connect" button on the bottom of the mouse. The green LED should come on, and restore the connection between the reciever and the mouse.
