Question about Dell 3007WFPHC 30 inch Monitor

1 Answer

I'm using the is a TV monitor and I have a constant problem with the on/off switch. It will eventually turn on, but it usually takes several tries. It doesn't seem to matter whether the tries are manual or with the remote. Can it be repaired or is there a way to put it in sleep mode so it will come right on when I want it?

The fault is in the power supply circuits of the main pcb i would say there is a transiant signal going to the flax relay there is no simple fix to this problem in time the unit will stop coming on at all you really need to have the unit repaired before this happens as the unit could inspect more faults as the pcb fails

Tv not turning on the center icon flashes one slow one fast

TV's do not usually have a reset button as not much processing is done by the set.
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Taking several minutes to turn on problem is usually due to bad/unstable DC from the power supply, which can create a lot of strange symptoms. That willbe the first palce to look.
Please read mu guides for details and post back what you find on the power supply section first. We need to fix the delayed turn on problemfirst before trying to fix other symptoms.

1. the motherboard might be bad and you will need to replace it. 2. or The power supply is bad
Chances are if its making clicks the power supply is bad and you will need to replace it. Which makes sense because constantly powering the tv on and off will damage the power supply or possibly short out your motherboard. These things usually cost about 200 bucks to fix at a local tv repair store.

The sound/volume turned to mute automatically?

Assuming that you are using one, take the batteries out of the remote, then turn the sound up with the switches on the monitor. Tactile switches somethings get stuck. The mute switch could be one of them. If it is the one on the screen, check the "feel" of the mute button compared to the others. Damaged ones usually feel "flat".

This is a problem with the power supply unit inside the monitor, there is no easy way out here. If you keep on using your monitor like this eventually it won't switch on no matter how long you wait. Keep on using it like this for the time being without switching off anything but ultimately you will have to take it in for repairs or otherwise purchase a new screen..
