SOURCE: drum makes loud noise when spinning

The bearings are worn out ,it's not worth to repair , the fact that your washer is old it's going to have more problems.

SOURCE: My Frigidaire washer FWS445RF will

First of all, unplug your washer. You will need to remove the console in order to get to the lid switch. The washer may have release tabs under the console at each front corner. Simply slide a putty knife straight in from the front at each corner and push in while lifting up. You should feel the release tabs push in and the console will pop up. If not equipped with this type of console, you may have a console that has removable end caps. They can be removed by gently prying up on the top of them from the rear on each side. You may have to use a small screwdriver for this. The caps should pop right off. Once removed, you will need to loosen a screw under each cap. Once you have the console loosened, carefully lift it up and lay it back over the rear panel of the washer in its resting position. Be careful not to damage the small plastic hinges that hold it in place. Now you will need to perform the following steps:

1. Under the console you will find the lid switch connector. Unplug the switch from the connector.

2. There will be two brass colored clips. You will need to remove these to remove the machine casing. Place a flat blade screwdriver straight down into the opening on top of the washer and into the groove of the clip. Push the screwdriver away from you while holding into the groove and the clip will release.

3. Open the lid of the washer and place your hand under the front rim of the opening (DO NOT grab the wash tub). Now pull the case from the frame by lifting from the back first.

You do not have to remove it all the way from the frame, just enough to gain access to the switch. All there is to the switch is a couple of screws holding it in and a ground wire. It's a pretty easy repair job. Some models will have the switch located on the right-hand side of the lid rim opening, while other models will have the switch located on the left-hand side near the lid hinge.

Once you've completed your switch installation, make sure you get the case back on the frame correctly by following these steps:

1. While looking down through the lid opening, place the front lip of the machine case UNDER the washer frame and start leaning it back onto the frame. There are four small cleats that must fit into four slots on the case or the washer will vibrate. Make sure the frame is seated properly, lean forward from the front of the washer, grasp both sides of the rear panel and pull towards the case. The rear panel should be seated and flush with the casing before inserting the retaining clips.

2. Insert the brass-colored clips into the slot on the washer rear panel first, and then push straight down into the opening on the top of the washer with some force. If you have the case seated correctly, the clips will snap back in.

3. Make sure you plug the connector from the console back into the lid switch receptacle BEFORE you reassemble the console. This is easy to forget.

Kenmore 600 washer shakes when agitating and spinning. Drum seems loose. What to do?

Well, based on my experience, it seems to be an issue of suspension rods which supports drum or it can also be an issue of drum belt or bearings.

Out of balance washing machine

Hi, your question does not give me any hints so I will try to give you some general tips. If you wash things that can not spread out evenly inside the drum, like mats pillows etc. Disable the high spin and drip dry you items or squeeze out the water by hand.
If the drum swings from side to side when rotating, one of the shock-absorbers inside the machine may be worn out, broke or loose.
If you open the lid, grab the drum and move it a bit back and forth and side to side (not rotating) it should not swing easily but with a damped resistance when the absorbers are ok.
An other experience I have made is the balancing of the feet. I had a new machine that alway moved around during the high spin, even thou I have made an extra flat surface for it to stand on. I could recognize a bumping noise from the feet.
When I pressed down the left or the right front corner with my hand a little, the bumping stopped. Then I adjusted the corresponding foot down and fine tuned it until the bumping disappeared while spinning.
Since then my machine has not moved an other mm (= 1/25").
So equal down force from the feet and no play under any of them is essential to deep it from moving around.
Hope this can help you too.

1991 mercury sable rear R wheel is not moving

Your brakes are probably rusted up. From sitting and not moving the inside of your brake drum has a lip rusted around the brake shoe. If you get an some solid dry pavement lightly rock the car back and forth from drive to reverse. This should free up the wheel. If it does not then you will need to get the wheel and drum off and see what is the problem in there.

Steering loose

On these vehicles the main thing to look for when you have play in the steering is on the passenger side of the vehicle in front of the right front tire on the frame the idler arm.How to check and see if it is that jack up the right front(passenger)side tire and when it is off the ground put one hand on front of the tire and the other hand on the back of the tire and try to move it back and forth,if it moves a decent amount then look at the idler arm and move the tire back and forth again and if the idler arm moves up and down say about 1/2 and inch replace it and have the front end alignment done afterwards.

Chain does not move

Loosen the adjustor on the side cover. With the saw off and with a good pair of gloves on, you should be able to move the chain back and forth with your hand.

If it neesa loosed, loosen it. If it will still not run with the motor, you need a new clutch.

Driver side wiper is so loose I can move back and forth by hand. How do i get the whole wiper tightened.

If there is a cap to pop up at mounting , you may have a nut under it that you can tighten, just be careful not to go too much.
