  • Boot up your computer and find an open USB port. These are small, rectangular ports typically on the sides or backs of laptop computers, or on the fronts or backs of desktop towers.

  • Plug your flash drive into the USB port. The drive will slide in only if it is turned in the right direction, so if you have trouble inserting it, turn it over.

  • Make sure your computer sees the flash drive. It should launch a menu, letting you know that it has found a new storage device. You can choose an option from the menu or close the menu if you don't need to immediately access the flash drive.

  • Install the flash drive's driver if your computer doesn't recognize the flash drive. The flash drive's packaging should include the manufacturer's website address. Open your Internet browser, go to that address, and download the flash drive's driver from the site. Install the driver on your computer. After that, your computer should be able to recognize your drive.

Help How can I unblock my sandisk cruzer

    Hi,
Dear Customer, Plz Flow this instruction i think solve you problem.
    Reformat the drive:-
    • Right-click the SanDisk flash drive within "Computer" and select "Format..." Enter a name for the drive, select your desired format (FAT32 is typical for flash drives). Click "Start" to format the drive. This, unfortunately, will erase everything on the drive. Any data contained will be lost along with the password protection. Once reformatted, the drive will be fully accessible.

My USB just stopped working; I have a very important school project saved on it and nowhere else. Help!

What do you mean its not working? Is it not being recognized by the computer?
Try using different USB ports after restarting the computer. If this doesn't work, try to go to a different PC.
    Hope this helps-

I am currently on a school computer. My SanDisk Cruzer 8gb would not run. I recently added a password on it and it has worked before. The U3 system would not auto-run and I have tried running it manually...

    > currently on a school policy.

The school's Computer Systems Administrator may have installed a "Group Policy" setting that tells Windows to *NOT* allow USB-devices (iPod, iPad, flash-drives, external disk-drives) to be allowed to be used. It's a good way of preventing computer-viruses from getting onto the school's computers.

If your SanDisk works correctly on your own computer, then use your own computer.

Instructions on how to operate a sandisk cruzer us 2.0 flash drive. what is supposed to happen when i insert the drive, should any on screen instructions inform me what i am transferring to the drive.

Your system will automatically recognize your sandisk and will automatically install the drivers for it (this will show on the time taskbar located at the lower right side of the screen). After successfully loading the drivers you can now access your usb drive by going to My computer and should have the drive letter after your cd/dvd drive.

Why usb device show extra cd rom

    Hello,
The Cruzer Micro contains a small operating system that allows it (and you the user) to run certains applications on any computer (Windows). It has the so-called U3Smart technology. The small U3 Smart OS appears as a CD-Rom drive. In addition to that the Cruzer has the normal flash-drive.
The interest of the U# Smart technology is that you use your own programs loaded on the key. Suppose you like to use Firefox, and the public/school/library computer you are using does not have Firefox, You plug your USB Micro Cruzer, and click the the LAUNCHPAD of the Cruzer (The cruzer CD-ROM icon). It installs an icon on the tray through which you access your applications. You scroll to find your Firefox and use it to surf the Web. All history, files downloaded, bookmarks, passwords to online banking, everything remains on your drive. When you remove it you remove all trace of what you have been doing.

You can also activate the security feature by setting a password. Even if it is lost, your data is safe.

    Hope it helps.

I have SanDisk Cruzer 8gb and once I got it plugged in the computer and got the applications I wanted, I couldn't save any of my school papers on it. Please teach me how to do this.

When you go to save your data in your application program it should let you save it to: go to my computer and look for the drive letter of your new flash drive and give your data a specific name and save it to that drive letter. You will be able to open it up by going back to my computer and double left clicking on the same drive letter and see your file their. Double left click on it and it should bring it back up for you. Hope this helps, let me know if it don't and we can go futher from thier. My E-Mail is woodworking57@hotmail.com

How do i transfer files to a SanDisk Cruzer flash drive

    Hello,
It is simple. You insert it into a usb 2.0 port on your computer. Windows will recognize it and it will show in the My computer window. You click on the icon for the drive and you can explore what is in it.
    1.
If you have files (documents, pictures, etc.) you select them, right click mouse button to copy them ( CTRL C) then you open the Cruzer and you right click inside the drive window ( CTRL V) and click Paste.
.2. You can open 2 windows side by side, one for the folder that contains the file to be transferred, the other for the Cruzer. You will have to reduce the sizes of the windows. Then You click on the file to be transferred and maintain the click. After that you drag the mouse cursor and drop it in the Cruzer window. (That is called Drag and Drop)

    Hope it helps.

    I don't know a thing about it.

When you insert the flash drive into a USB port, the system will (okay, should) recognize it as a "removable" drive. It will assign a drive letter to it, which you can treat as a regular hard drive.

So, plug it in, then open My Computer, and you should see it there. Save to it, delete from it, whatever you want. If your system is not recognizing it (XP and Vista should do so, automatically), then you may have a flash drive that requires a driver (typically, SanDisk units do not).

    Cheers
    Nick
