Wait for a jetlagged Lithuanian, or send a 100% discount for (hopefully) positive feedback.

I'm new. I just want to read how ebay works? For instance, how long does an auction last? How can i know if i'm outbid?

Auctions can be set to a number of time durations. 3, 5, 7, or 10 days for a straight auction or as a fixed price sale up to 30 days. if you are outbid, ebay will send you a notification. However, if the auction is close to ending these notices may not reach you in time to raise your bid. You will have the best luck placing the highest bid you are comfortable with the first time. Ebay will only place it in the amount nessesary to beat the next highest bidder and then increase it as necessary but only up to the maximum you have bid.

I have a Fargo DTC 520 and no longer need it. Ay idea how much it is worth ? It works fine, but I have not used it for about 3 years. So it is being stored. Thanks , Wayne,.

Hi kestonrock, I was able to locate 2 DTC520s for sale on ebay both for about 750-800 dollars US currency. (you can view these auctions at this link

Be aware, value will fluctuate depending on overall cosmetic condition and functionality. For a single unit sale your best bet is probably to use an online sale/auction site. You could try Craigslist first as that allows you to sell without having to pay any listing fees, etc. If that does not work for you ebay can be a reliable alternative (as when using any online selling sites use common sense when dealing with individuals, with craiglist be careful about where you meet someone, deal in cash or direct deposits to an account like PayPal, etc). You might even put a small ad in your local free paper/newspaper as this kind of device could be of interest to small business owners.

I really hope this information has been of use to you and good luck!

Want help useing ebay

New Member Registration comes first. You will get confirmation and sales invoices in your email, so make sure your email address is correct and fully functional. Also record your user names and passwords correctly, choosing may be difficult as there are over 120 million users now. Bank or credit card info is necessary.
Be careful if you submit a bid, you should be ready to pay. 3 non-pays and you can be banned.
Be diplomatic, accurate and understanding in byer seller communications, as buyer feedback can damage your ability to sell.
Always pay extra for USPS tracking if you sell something, it is how the Ebay system proves seller compliance. Take your time on the item listing page, notice and try to understand every click box, including auction duration and shipping options, decimal places, quantities etc.. Learn the listing page thoroughly, as mistakes and oversights can cause real financial pain. With practice, eBay can be practical, profitable and fun.
Ebay has the most refined search system around with category, area, price range or item name searches, both current running auctions or finished auctions. Use quotes around item names for exact results, such as "vintage bean slicer". Do your homework and research and communicate promptly. Make sure email messages are authentic by accessing whatever links are offered by typing in your address bar. Clicking on email links can be very dangerous.I have never opened any email attatchment. Ebay and paypal never ask for your user information, they already know it. Tryh to keep a healthy balance in your Paypal account for sufficient problem coverage.

I want to cancel best offer to buy it now only but dont now an easy way

There is no easy way. Get the seller's permission for you to opt out of the sale first, then cancel the bid. Be aware that some seller's will give negative feedback for a sale not completed.
